With a wonderful Gargano setting near Vieste, Agriturismo Passione Natura certainly ticks all the boxes for families looking for a camping adventure off the beaten track. Pitches here sit in the shade of centuries-old olive trees in this untamed corner of Puglia, with much to do in the local surroundings and just as much to do on site. Keep the kids happy on site with rounds of adventure golf and cooling dips in the infinity pool as you laze on sun loungers on the sundeck – and you can keep your luggage light by hiring pool towels for the week. Dogs are allowed on site to share in your holiday fun too – and in fact any animal-mad families will surely be pleased to know that the site owners offer guided encounters with their livestock (just ask on arrival). Despite being so rural, the site has a wifi connection. Fancy exploring further afield? There's plenty of exploring (on foot or by bike) to do in those Gargano hills. If that sounds too much like hard work, retire to the bar for a refreshing glass of something chilled, and move on at leisure to order up a pasta and pizza feast in the adjoining restaurant.

Liked: Wir haben hier wunderschöne Tage verbracht. Ein wirklich besonderer Platz mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Enzo hat uns sehr freundlich begrüßt und war bei Fragen ansprechbar. Leider konnten wir das Restaurant nicht testen, weil es geschlossen war. Das war aber auch verständlich, da Nebensaison war und wir tatsächlich die einzigen Gäste in dieser Zeit waren. Was man wissen muss, das Sanitärgebäude ist kein geschlossenes Gebäude, weshalb es aufgrund der Witterung entsprechend kalt ist. Aber sonst ein wirkliches Juwel.

Liked: Gorgeous clean very high quality site in tranquil ancient olive grove, very friendly helpful and kind welcome from Marianna and her family, short bike ride down (and back up) the hill to the amazing beach at Vieste, we will return one day for sure! Grazi mile Marianna, Enzo & everyone!

Liked: Wat een prachtige plek midden in de olijf boomgaard, vlak bij Vieste zeker de moeite waard om naar toe te gaan en te eten. Super gastvrij ontvangen door Enzo, Marianne en John. Het was heerlijk rustig, alles schoon en goed onderhouden, zeker de marmalade van Marianne proberen, heerlijk! De anti pasta,ontbijt alles prima verzorgd. Het zwembad en tuin mooi aangelegd. Mooi gebied om te fietsen vooral de kustweg prachtig.

Disliked: Niets!

l acqua vicino alla piazzola

Disliked: La piazzola in cemento per la tenda (comoda per il camper, ma non per la tenda) I 30 Euro chiesti a caso per la pulizia della piazzola!!!?? la minaccia di fare pagare €20 a tutti quelli del campeggio se si fossero trovati i bagni sporchi. l'assenza di carta igienica e anche l'assenza di porta carta igienica in bagno, dovevi appoggiarla perterra o tenertela in mano. le docce delle donne si allagavano.
Il fatto che non facessero la differenziata! (unico posto in puglia credo). il prezzo non corrispondeva per niente al servizio.
La sveglia venerdì mattina alle 6:40 con 2 trattori e un cingolato nella fascia di terreno a 15 m dalla nostra tenda.

Fancy a day at the beach? No problem, you can take your pick of several: sandy Spiaggia di Pizzomunno (five minutes’ drive) is a scenic spot with a giant limestone pillar at the centre of its bay, and pebbly/sandy Spiaggia di Portonuovo (10 minutes) has a beach bar and boat rentals, plus shallow waters for the kids to splash in. Wander over to neighbouring Spiaggia della Grotta dei Pipistrelli (10 minutes) and explore the caves inhabited by rare bats. Close by, you can also swim in the limpid waters of the Grotta dei Marmi (25 minutes). Head underground once more to discover the delightful chapel in St Michael’s Cave (55 minutes); for more heritage sightseeing, tour the hilltop Santuario di San Michele Arcangelo (an hour) with its finely carved façade and dramatic subterranean cave church. Turn inland for challenging hikes in the Riserva Naturale Sfilzi (35 minutes), or take the binoculars and search for rare birds on the Sentiero Il Parchetto - Monte Pucci (40 minutes) woodland trail. Have a scramble around in Gargano National Park (half an hour) and you’ll be rewarded with views to Lake Varano and the Adriatic Sea beyond.
