What's your holiday must-have – lots and lots of good views? That's a big tick in the box for Camping Carrefour de l'Ardèche, a short drive from the gorgeous tourist spots of the southern Ardèche. As soon as the sun rises over your well-maintained grassy pitch, it’s only a 15-minute drive to reach Gorges de l'Ardèche, a 30-kilometre-long canyon that's a pleasure to explore in a kayak or on foot. The lush lavender fields of Maison de la Lavande (and its artisanal ice creams and lavender-based foodie souvenirs) are also just a five-minute drive away, and there are plenty of hiking and biking trails from the nearby village of Saint-Remèze. Dogs are welcome at this site, so they'll be able to accompany you on your outings as well. Staying on site for some action is also an option – throughout the day, guests can get stuck into the many well-maintained facilities on site, from the (unheated) outdoor swimming pool to the games room and pétanque court. A day full of all those activities surely calls for something delicious for dinner – and that's where the La Grignotière restaurant at Camping Carrefour de l'Ardèche comes in, with tasty local cuisine and drinks. If you'd rather do your own catering, you can pick up supplies and snacks at the village shops, 15 minutes' walk away.

il est dommage de mettre une note pareille a un camping parce que il n y a pas de table de ping pong. on demande a tous nos clients si leur emplacement leur convient il suffisait juste de demander un emplacement plus près des sanitaires. Nous préférons effectivement donner les emplacements vu vignes ou montagne plutôt que vu wc.: mais effectivement il faut faut marcher 1mn 30s
au plaisir de vous revoir tres vite.

Local attractions

One spot you’ll surely want to see while driving around Gorges de l'Ardèche is Le Pont d'Arc (20 minutes’ drive). Arching over the river, this rock formation is one of the finest views along the canyon. Canoeing and hiking are popular activities here, and there are also a couple of sandy beach areas for those who fancy a dip. In Vallon-Pont-d'Arc (20 minutes), at the north of the canyon, several outdoor activity companies arrange all sorts of watersports on the canyon. Southern Ardèche is also well known for its stunning caves. A particular favourite is Grotte Chauvet 2 – Ardèche (10 minutes), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is decorated with animal drawings from around 36,000 years ago. The cave also has stalactites, stalagmites and bone remnants to explore. Aven Marzal (five minutes) is a little closer to your pitch. This cave has a prehistoric-themed museum with animal bones belonging to bears, tigers and even velociraptors. Adults and kids alike may find themselves gawping at the baby mammoth cast and dinosaur eggs.
