Fancy discovering the south of Brittany? Camping Les Gênets makes a practical base for a Finistère stay. This site is in Névez, which is close to the coast and a few minutes’ drive away from the GR34 and a dozen beaches between Port Manec'h and Pointe de Trévignon. Pont-Aven is a 10-minute drive away and Concarneau is 15 minutes away. Tourist information is available at reception to make your stay easier. The campsite has both sunny pitches and shaded areas. Dogs are welcome as long as they abide by the rules. The toilet block is equipped with a dozen showers and sinks, a baby bath and a family bathroom with facilities for people with reduced mobility. The campsite has a launderette with washing machines and dryers. Several items of baby equipment are available free of charge on request. At reception, there is a small grocery store as well as a bread depot; a supermarket and shops are a two-minute drive away. Kids can have fun at a playground with swings, a roundabout, a small trampoline and a mini slide, and youngsters can also learn the game of home ball. There is a racket sports area with a ping-pong table and a badminton or volleyball net. Guests can rent bicycles and electric bicycles to explore the surroundings. In July and August, the campsite team offers sports activities and hikes (depending on the weather.) In addition, on Tuesdays in summer, guests can enjoy artisanal pizzas or world cuisine dishes on site or to take away.

Liked: Staff who were helpful and friendly.
Site was quiet, possibly because of the time of the year.

Disliked: Toilet and shower block are seriously in need of updating.

Wi fi not good, never connected over the whole stay.
Only really available by the reception area.

Liked: Lovely site, with friendly, helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Pitches were well maintained and a good size. The water for showers and wash up was a great temperature and was easily accessible. Everything was kept spotless.

Disliked: Not a criticism as everything was clean and tidy, but the facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade.

Local attractions

There are around 20 beaches in the vicinity of the campsite. Don’t miss Plage de Tahiti (10 minutes’ drive) with its white sand and crystal-clear waters. Take a half-hour walk on the GR34 coast path to Anse de Rospico beach or try out other nearby beaches including Plage de Kersidan (five minutes) and Plage de l’Océan (10 minutes). Visit Concarneau (15 minutes) for its old walled town and its beach, which has lots of activities including boat rental, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing and surfing. You can also book a boat trip to the Glénan archipelago. Don’t miss Pont-Aven (15 minutes) for its art galleries and riverside walks, Quimperlé (half an hour) for its pretty medieval half-timbered houses, and Quimper (half an hour) for its museums and Gothic-style cathedral.

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
