  • Small, peaceful site on a rural Pembrokeshire smallholding
  • Within a half-hour drive of beaches, Cardigan and Folly Farm
  • Barbecues and firepits welcome; pub 10 minutes' walk away
If you’re planning to explore as much of Pembrokeshire as you possibly can, you’ll be in prime position when you stay at Maengwyn Hir Campsite. This small site is part of a rural smallholding near the hamlet of Llanfyrnach, and that location places it pretty much right in the centre of the county. The setting itself is peaceful indeed, with lovely views of the Preseli Hills and plenty of space from which to take them in (including a picnic area by a pond). The rural location means lots of great walks nearby too – handily, many of the trails will take you past the local pub (10 minutes’ walk away) for a well-earned pint to reward your efforts. Although this is a quiet location, there’s plenty of action around if you want it. For starters, you’ll be able to check out great swathes of West Wales coastline, whether you head north (to Cardigan and Aberporth), west (to St Davids and Newgale) or south (to Tenby and Pendine). Family outings to places like Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo and Heatherton World of Activities are within easy reach too, while scenery seekers can head to places like Cenarth Falls and Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber. Back on site, it’s a laidback setup that welcomes dogs, families, groups and allows campfires and barbecues. A chemical disposal point and toilet block are among the handy facilities provided.

Very peaceful but so many adventures are waiting close by.
Friendly and accommodating hosts.
Facilities are well set up, static caravan has: the shower which is a nice shower, washing up facilities, and even the lounge area is set up with games, TV and hi fi - imagine that would be great for campervan and tent users. There is a toilet in the static home as well as 2 separate toilets outside in another building.
Also the TV signal and 4g is amazing onsite!

Liked: I am cycle touring so the communal caravan where you can cook and eat in comfort was very welcome. I would certainly recommend this campsite for backpackers, cycle tourers and motorcycle tourers because of this facility. I received a friendly welcome from the farmer and his lovely dog.
