Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Speaking as someone who is more of a hotel kinda gal, I would definitely return here. The staff were fantastic, the chap that came to greet us and show us where our pitch was was so helpful and friendly. The site was so clean and well run. The shower and toilet facilities were fantastic, they were warm and the 24/7 radio was a fantastic touch so you aren’t in silence should you need a midnight wee. The showers were in cubicles that had a separate area in where you could change and hang your clothes in the dry, this was brilliant.
The pitches were such a great size, very level, and the local area wasn’t bad with a great pub 2 minutes walk away.

Disliked Nothing that was the fault of the campsite.. some people just dont have it in them to be considerate of others, so it was very noisy after the 10oclock quiet time rule and when they eventually left the site at 10:30, they just went to the pub which was almost next to our pitch.
Again, no fault of the campsite but I’d probably ask for a different pitch next time.

Electric grass campervan pitch

Liked I loved my stay at Whitemead Caravan Park. The hosts took my needs into consideration and were super helpful and kind. They even tried to help fix a problem with my camper van. They are all very knowledgeable of the area and gave lots of suggestions on where to go hiking. All facilities are clean and lovely hot showers.

Whitemead is close to the train station that takes you to Dorchester and Weymouth and a short bus ride to Lulworth Cove and Durdle door. There are a few dog walks on the door step too.

Both Monkey world and the tank museum are very close by. I even got woken by the Monkeys one morning. Will definitely go back as soon as much more to visit.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked It was my first time staying at Whitemead Caravan park. The people were pleasant to talk to and all the spaces were clean, marked up and tidy. It was close to all the amenities which was good because we were backpacking and bought our tent. The shop was good and it was quiet at night.

Disliked There were transport sounds occasionally outside the park.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review, Gillian. We're pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.

The occasional transport noise outside the park, unfortunately, is unavoidable and a pitfall of having shops, a pub and excellent transport links nearby. We're confident that the convenience of having these amenities close to site, far outweighs the slight and occasional noise that accompanies it, and we're glad to hear that you will be returning and recommending us to friends regardless. :)

Electric grass pitch

Liked This is a great base if you want to explore Dorset as it's between Bournemouth and Weymouth, and a 5 minute walk to the train/bus station and 2 pubs. The caravan park itself is lovely and surrounded by miles of fields by the river for lovely walks, the site is very clean, the toilets and shower block are immaculately clean and tidy.
The staff, absolutely fantastic and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay, nothing is to much trouble at all.
We absolutely loved our time there and will definitely return, so if you want a top class park then dont hesitate in booking this one.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Everything ❤️❤️❤️
The site is clean, well looked after, but it's the staff who make it.
The toilets are spotless and a little touch of music playing in there.
The staff very kindly unhitch you and put your caravan in position for you, very helpful, especially when you've been travelling for a while.
Also a great location, central for many places.
Our 2nd year here and will be back.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Very welcoming and friendly staff. Pitches well kept. Excellent showers and toilet block.
A small village but with well stocked Spar, bakery, butcher, Fish &Chips, Chinese. All within easy walking distance. Pub with food over the footbridge.
We used the excellent public transport most of the week. Great connections for most of the regions attractions.
We would definitely recommend it.

Local attractions

On the edge of the Isle of Purbeck and halfway between Bournemouth and Dorchester, Wool is handily placed for reaching some excellent attractions. Closest to the park are Monkey World and the Tank Museum in Bovington, both within a five-minute drive, 10-minute cycle or half-hour walk. If you’d like to play at being a knight, 15 minutes’ drive brings you to Corfe Castle, a medieval ruin with nooks and crannies for hiding out. Five miles south are the sea and the Jurassic Coast’s most famed attractions – Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Other options for days out include cycling around Wareham Forest followed by boating on the River Frome from Wareham (10 minutes’ drive), or a trip on the Swanage Railway half an hour away, or – well, it’s safe to say you won’t get bored...
