What customers say

A tranquil, eco-friendly spot with lovely countryside and distant sea views. Guests loved the hot showers, clean compost toilets, and roomy pitches with braai areas. The coffee shack and pizza nights were a hit. Most found it relaxing, though some mentioned tricky access roads. Ideal for a quiet, nature-filled escape.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked The simplicity and quietness of the site. The facilities that are there are well maintained. Loved the clay pizza oven, easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and the surrounding views top it off.
Mew also serves up some of the nicest coffee from his little coffee shack in the mornings which set you up for the day ahead.

Disliked The narrow country road which leads up to it, but as to be expected to find little gems as is Brigs Farm. Just take it steady and all is fine.
Some areas of the site could be flattened out a little (minor point).

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Relaxed, family-friendly feeling
Beautiful views
Good location
Level pitches
Good showers
Quiet

Disliked Compost toilets - dirty and smelly, even though the signs say they aren’t
No hot water in bathrooms
No hot water to wash pots
Open urinals
Was there for 6 days and never once saw the owner or anyone “in charge”, no welcome, no reception
No assigned pitches
Terrible potholes on driveway - don’t come if you haven’t got a 4x4

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked This is probably the nicest campsite I've ever stayed on. Intimate, friendly, well-equipped and sociable, with fabulous views. If you want electric hookup it won't be for you and if you prefer a large impersonal site it won't be for you either, but for us it was perfect. There are loads of lovely touches, like the pizza night and the coffee bar, that gave a sense of community around the place. There's no playground but there are loads of places for the kids to play. The compost toilets aren't scary at all and are one of many ways in which this site is going the extra mile on sustainability. And the showers are the best of any campsite I've ever stayed on.

Local attractions

Lemurs, wallabies and meerkats are among the residents at Axe Valley Wildlife Park (10 minutes’ drive), where you can also book experiences with the animals – from supervised handling sessions to shadowing the keepers as they prepare food and clean enclosures. The Mary Anning Rocks Statue at Lyme Regis (15 minutes) honours this important 19th-century palaeontologist. You can follow in her footsteps here and go fossil hunting on the beach. Don’t worry if you fail to spot any ammonites: you can always pick one up from the local souvenir shops, or discover all about fossils and the Jurassic Coast at the Lyme Regis Museum. In addition to a long pebbly beach popular for swimming and watersports, the seaside town of Seaton (20 minutes) has a pretty marina and fishing harbour. The South West Coastal Path runs along the seafront, with a wide esplanade for waterfront strolls, or you can take a scenic ride on the vintage-style Seaton Tramway.
