For a sweet-as break on a working farm, head to family-friendly Treacle Valley Campsite in the tiny village of Daccombe, between Dartmoor National Park to the west and more than 20 English Riviera beaches towards the east. This is a top spot for all ages: kids will be kept occupied at the play area or on all the wide open space around the accommodation area, and walks to the village through the surrounding countryside start right from the pitches. Treacle Valley's café/shop stocks all the basics you might need while you're on your hols, and provides a handy and free freezer block service in case you want to pack up a hamper with bubbly (possibly accompanied by a few sandwiches) and head out for the day. When you get hungry you're more than welcome to fire up the barbie or cook up something tasty over your campfire – for anything more substantial, head into one of the nearby seaside towns for supermarkets, seafood restaurants, fish and chip takeaways and posh pub grub. The nearest pub is a 20-minute walk away.

Treacle Valley is a chilled, friendly spot with lekker countryside views. Guests loved the clean facilities (hot showers, handy washing spots) and fire pits. Staff were often called helpful. Liked I really appriciated the Freedom laid back approach to camping / running the site some places you just feel so up tight and watched or monitored this is a really friendly site where you can just chill super child friendly

Disliked Okay the ground is aliitle uneaven. I was there on an exceptionally busy weekend as stated by staff the showers were alittle cool but there electric and theres alot of people and reception informed me what more can they do so no real problems

Liked - Very flexible check in and out times.
- Beautiful, countryside views.
- Clean and well maintained toilet block and washing up area (a tricky job with the amount of dry grass being traipsed in there all day long),
- Small, onsite shop for drinks and snacks.
- Small play area for children.
- Choice of pitch (all non electric FYI).
- 15 minutes from Babbacombe/Oddicombe beaches.

Disliked - Not much flat ground to work with. Luckily, we have a camper van, so we were able to use levelling blocks to get closer to flat, but you’d need to be ok with the high probability of a sloped pitch if you were camping in a tent.
- Occasional whiffs of cow from the barn next to the camping field. Depends on which way the wind is blowing (which is obviously not under the staffs control).

Due to its popularity we could t book all this week so stayed at a couple of other camps
Glad we got back on our last night
This place is so relaxing and tranquil and is by far our favourite and we will be returning year after year

Liked Gorgeous views and very conveniently located.

Disliked Very hilly, to the point where it was impossible to find a flat pitch so had to sleep at a steep and uncomfortable angle.

Disliked Der dreckigste Campingplatz, den wir über pitchup gebucht haben. Überall Dreck, direkt nebenan ein Kuhstall, der dermaßen gestunken hat. Die ‚Wiese‘ hügelig, selbst mit Keilen kaum eine gerade Fläche hinzubekommen.
Die Sanitäranlagen dreckig, der Wäscheraum war ein Witz, alte Wäsche in der Waschmaschine.

Liked Trish and Alan are the heart and soul of this campsite , they try there best to cater for anything you need , we come back every year without fail from Sheffield and we enjoy it every time !! It's the loveliest place to stay with the family for some quality time! We won't be changing camp any time soon! That's for sure !

Disliked Everything was awful, not one flat ground, people had there dogs off lead all the time, even confronted another camper to ask her to put dog on lead as was pooing everywhere and I got told my dogs better off a lead!! Then people were driving round at 22:30 and shouting and kids running round screaming, we were supposed to stay 3 nights but we left after one!
