What customers say

This top-notch site offers fantastic views and pristine, modern facilities. Friendly, helpful staff are a highlight, as are the great dog-friendly extras and handy food choices. Village walks are great but steep. Shower timers and Wi-Fi could be better.

Rabbit Field electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked The facilities were outstanding, spotlessly clean and well maintained, as were the grounds and estate generally. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they were knowledgeable about which events were on in the area so we could plan our stay. There was quite a crowd on site when we visited, but the facilties were never stretched and the atmosphere was peaceful and calm. Stunning views from the site and lovely walks, although the terrain on some on the footpaths could be challenging but we didn't mind that at all, because the area is stunning, as are the main villages on Lynmouth and Lynton.

Disliked My main dislike has nothing to do with how the site is managed, it's to do with the selfish customers who smoked and stubbed out their cigarettes at the main entrance to the wash areas as well as dropping their empty fag packets on the floor - plenty of bins available, so absolutely no excuse.

Would also have been good if the wash hand basins had plugs, it would save a lot of water - but to be proactive, I've ordered some for my travel kit, for the next time we visit.

Valley View non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Easy to find, picturesque, small site with plenty of facilities: loved the addition of a cocktail & burger van. Professional, knowledgeable and helpful staff with lots of recommendations for pubs / walks / beaches. Clean amenities and friendly staff.

Disliked Poor wi-fi - to be expected in rural Devon.

Beggar's Field electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Facilities are absolutely amazing. Toilet and showers are as clean as hotel. There are plenty of wash up area and dish washer for free. The view is beautiful and located just next to the Lynmouth. But it takes a few steps to get back. Highly recommended.

Liked Very tidy, pretty site. Friendly staff and clean facilities. My sons words were ‘’why are the toilets so posh!!’ 😂
Food can on site was good and reasonably priced, highly recommends the waffles and the banana/ biscoff milkshake!

Local attractions

Guests here have plenty of attractions and activities on their doorstep in and around Lynton and Lynmouth (five minutes' drive). For a novel way to travel between the two, try the funicular cliff railway that connects the twin towns. In the surrounding countryside, you can marvel at the geological formations of the Valley of the Rocks (10 minutes) or head out to the forest around Watersmeet (15 minutes) for waterfalls and an elegant Victorian tea room. Many head to this part of the country in search of outdoor pursuits, so sporty types may well be pleased to learn that Lynmouth Holiday Retreat is close to a stables (10 minutes), fishing lake (20 minutes) and golf club (40 minutes). To really get that blood pumping, hike some or all of the 14 miles along the coast to Combe Martin, a hilly stretch of the South West Coast Path that includes this trail's highest point. You may, of course, prefer a day lounging on the beach (and with beaches like these, who can blame you?). Top seaside towns nearby include Minehead, with its rockpools, and Ilfracombe with its castle and aquarium (both half an hour away).
