What customers say

Beautiful views and staff, clean facilities like the pool and clubhouse, great kids' entertainment. Some touring pitches are small, uneven, and dirty, with bins overflowing.

Liked Views
Staff nice
Shop was brilliant addition

Disliked How un maintained the pitches and facilities were. Glass was found on pitches, rubbish and not all eletric pitches worked. Toilet when we went was completely flooded for the whole weekend without anyone doing anything. Couldn't use toilet or showers without going swimming through a few inches of dirty toilet water.
Last time we went swimming was free, very un maintained but included in site price. Now the site is the same price and swimming has to be paid for at 6quid an adult and 4quid a child. Which half was used for swimming lessons all weekend.
Arcade was a swizz, all games unmaintained and either didn't work or stole your money.

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked Quiet and peaceful with access to facilities. Lovely location.
Check in guy on reception was friendly and helpful.

Disliked Unkept, dirty and unsafe.

Rubbish left at the back of the pitch next door from previous occupants - this was clearly old because it was sun bleached.

Electric boxes unsafe with small children around. Wires hanging etc.

Kids park - bin overflowing, rubbish on the floor all around the park. Nettles everywhere resulting in my daughter getting nettled just for playing on the climbing frame.

Facilities - lovely! But when I’ve paid £96 for 2 nights in a dump, why should I be expected to pay £6 per adult and £4 per child to swim?
Didn’t go into the toilet block as I was scared what sort of state they’d be in.

No maintenance of touring area at all.

Electric gravel touring pitch (medium)

Liked The area, staff, overall site nice just the touring bit is not really nice

Disliked Pitches not cared for, full of weeds, scattered left clothing, Felt like we was on a car park more then a site, pitches 1-15 wouldn’t mind paying no more then £20 a night for the pitch but £45 is outrageous

Local attractions

Beacon Hill Country Park and the Forest of Bowland are mere minutes away by car and both have miles of walking routes across a range of landscapes including woodland, hills and farmland. Climb to the top of Beacon Hill to see landmarks in all directions including Belvoir Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and the hills of the Peak District. Said to be the inspiration for Tolkien’s Middle Earth (which might make you want to furry foot it there immediately), the Ribble Valley has the 70-mile path the Ribble Way, shopping in towns such as Clitheroe or munching one’s way around the Ribble Valley Food Trail. The River Ribble is a big hook for anglers landing chub, barbel, trout and salmon. City day trips are in all directions too: the kids’ eyes will light up with a trip to Blackpool… and for shopping, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool One of Manchester and Liverpool respectively should empty your wallet nicely…
