Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitches

  • Kessingland site directly on the Suffolk coast
  • Three different pitching up areas over 28 acres
  • Two new amenities blocks, including disabled and family rooms
What a beach! And what a view… The gorgeous East Anglian coastline and an expanse of Suffolk sands sweep out for miles from The Hollies touring and camping park near Lowestoft: the site is set on a cliff and the views from your pitch or your firepit of an evening will be Hollie-wood worthy. It's Kessingland Beach below you at The Hollies, which is a highly scenic ten or 15-minute saunter along the clifftop path and an equally scenic scene on arrival with its miles of golden sand. And the beach is dog-friendly all year round, as is The Hollies – hurrah and woof. The amiable Hollies team has arranged three picks of pitches on its roomy 28-acre site: the Barley field for tourers and with electric hook-up; the Seaside field for tents and without electric; and the Hay field especially suitable for mixed groups with a mix of tent and touring pitches, all with electric. Amenities are newly built and include two large shower and loo blocks with family rooms and rooms for disabled guests; a newly built playground is on site too for Suffolk coast-based little squirts.

What customers say

Great spot by the beach. Clean facilities, friendly staff, spacious pitches. Food vans are a hit. Steep beach access & some noise noted, with minor shower/WiFi issues. Highly recommended for a chilled break.

Seaside non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Good location!

Disliked The free for all tent pitches were cramped,
Music was very loud all night till 12/1am when it was supposed to be turnt off at 11! Toilets where do I begin, every time I kept going to the toilet it was Ethier blocked or closed for cleaning, when they were cleaned they were very clean but cleaning them first thing in the morning when people are likely to go is not on,
There was a big party sized group 5/6 family’s, I get your on holiday and you have a fun time, but everyone booked different sized pitches I booked 9m X 9m trying to find space when they set up a full sized tennis court for volley ball when there was fields designed for that was just selfish and the park should of told them about it! It was the same family who was playing music all day and night like a festival, barking of dogs all bloody day and night when they had to be kept quiet , I understand leaving your dogs at home is awful but if you decide to bring them, leave your rat at a kennels on the way to the site, thanks for reading, in all honesty it was a great place and a great weekend,

Only joking AVOID!!!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Friendly welcome with an escort to our pitch.
Pitch m44, level ground without the need for chocs. We was based opposite toilet block and playground. Toilets was cleaned at least 3 times daily, with plenty of space for placing clothes and lovely hot water with push system shower..large Area for moho with water tap available on pitch.
Very busy for the 2 nights we were there and to be fair there were good campers as noise was a minimum, and very quite after 10pm.
Very nice beach available via site..once you went down steps,,harder coming back up.
Lovely fish and chip van on site 4 -8.
Bus stop 3 minute walk to Heathlands campsite. Bus 99 into Lowestoft every 20 minutes, with a 20 minute journey to Lowestoft.

Disliked Nothing on my trip

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Absolutely awesome campsite. Think my other half was getting bored of me saying how clean toilet/shower block was. Close to the beach ( only 5 minute walk away) but be warned there are 90 steps down onto the beach. Cannot fault this campsite at all, and if you are looking for a break on the Suffolk coast then definitely give The Hollies a look. I only live an hour away but felt I could of been hundreds of miles away. Weather was gorgeous. We will DEFINITELY be back. We'll done all The Hollies team. Richard p.s didn't use WiFi so just put 1 star as I can't comment.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We arrived after the 5pm check in and on our way we had a call from the campsite just checking that we was still coming and making sure we knew where we was going, a few days before our trip we was sent a email with our pitch number and a map.

Nice size pitches.

Nice chippy onsite.

The ice cream van came round the campsite Thursday, Fri and Saturday, I'm assuming this is just for school holidays.

Great location close to the beach and local to morrison, sainsbury's, aldi, B and M and poundland.

Disliked There is two toilet blocks onsite and both always very busy especially in the mornings
but it is school holudays so to be expected. On the day we was leaving, one toilet block there was a que for the only 2 toilets that was working as the rest was blocked

Local attractions

The Hollies is in a spiffing location to get to the best of Suffolk, Norfolk, the countryside and the Broads for a bit of whatever you fancy in boating, fishing, hiking, rainy day activities and family days out. Lowestoft, Southwold and Great Yarmouth are all within ten miles – Lowestoft is only about five minutes by car – and are all well worth a day trip each, as is lovely Norwich about an hour's drive to the north-west (services run regularly from Lowestoft Station too). Lowestoft has two theatres and a handful of small museums in Sparrow Park alongside the main Lowestoft Museum in Nicholas Everett Park; head to the library's local history section for more pics and info of days of yore. Lowestoft's lighthouse is probably its most well-known feature, but take time for a trip to Ness Point too, the most easterly location in the UK (just ask a Lowestoft local to point you towards Gulliver). If you're on hol with the kids, you'll find loads of family-friendly options in the area, like the Africa Alive animal park five minutes' drive from the Hollies (go here on a Sunday for a bonzer of a car boot sale) and the Pleasurewood Hills theme park about 20 minutes away. Kids might also like the wooden roller disco at Lowestoft's Claremont Pier, but if this doesn't have them wheeling around in joy, take them to walk the plank at the play park Adventure Island, or to see more species at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Park just outside Great Yarmouth. Finally, nautical sorts don't need to tie themselves in knots trying to find a craft to take care of, as fishing boats can be chartered near Kessingland for sea angling trips, and the Norfolk Broads Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is within easy reach to drift along wildlife-laden waterways.
