If this sounds like the kind of thing dreams are made of, take a look at Stratford Parks Holiday Park, a peaceful and plant-filled site on the River Avon in the Warwickshire countryside. The park's Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant has a delicious variety of food and drink, as well as events throughout the high season and on some weekends. There's a multi-sports pitch on site for family games and over a mile and half of free river fishing for those who want to spend a peaceful afternoon on the river banks. A daily river taxi service also runs from Stratford Parks Holiday Park to Stratford-upon-Avon, where there are Shakespeare attractions and lots of places to eat or shop. Arriving with a furry companion? There are also designated dog-walking areas on site.

A well-kept spot with lekker staff and great facilities, especially the clean showers. Prime riverside spot with a handy water taxi to Stratford. Spacious pitches and a decent on-site bar/eatery get good mentions. Some found the loos a bit old and the Wi-Fi pricey.

Liked We liked the pitch that we had due to being in a more quiet location and not as crowded as the river side pitches but this might not be too everyone taste. Thoroughly enjoyed the river taxi and the guide from the driver. Also enjoyed walking around Stratford but very busy with people. Would recommend hiring motor boat or paddle boat for time on river. All in all very good site for couples and families. Very friendly and helpful staff

Disliked Slightly disappointed that no real internet connection and expected to pay for internet £6.00 per day.

Liked Liked the bar,food & entertainment.Location was excellent for access to town centre loved boat trip from park to centre.

Disliked Toilets & showers are below par,need money spending on them to up date them.

Liked Lovely quiet location, on arrival we were told we could have a riverside pitch overlooking the river which was superb. The toilet block was clean if dated. We walked into Stratford upon Avon and caught the river taxi back which was very pleasant.

Liked The distance to the town and the water taxi service.

Disliked It toilets and service facilities are very old. The touring pitches are disorganized and not properly maintained.
We got the feeling that it is a matter of time before the touring pitches are replaced by holiday homes.

Liked Extremely friendly staff, who were very helpful. Very clean toilet block, someone was constantly checking and cleaning them. Staff were always about in case you had any issues.
Dog walk was great!
Tents aren't allowed, which reduced the amount of children about due to lots of campervans, but it made the site quiet.
The river taxi was very useful, but a bit pricey for a family of 5 plus a dog!

Disliked No shop - but - there was a Spar within walking distance which was extremely well stocked.

Local attractions

For a change from the river taxi, guests can stroll into Stratford-upon-Avon to take in a play from the Royal Shakespeare Company, have a flutter at the races, or visit the many Shakespeare sights dotted around the city. There’s also excellent retail therapy to be had here, as well as in the elegant surrounding towns of Cheltenham, Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick. 
Sporty types will find golf courses, swimming pools and many other facilities nearby, and of course there are plenty of good walking opportunities along the river and out into the lovely Warwickshire countryside. Further along the banks of the Avon are the stately country house of Charlecote Park, and winsome Warwick Castle, which has plenty of things to do and see for all ages. Also nearby are the majestic ruins of Kenilworth Castle, where Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I used to make out; or you could follow in the footsteps of the Gunpowder Plotters of 1605 with a visit to Coughton Court. At the Ragley Hall Estate, visitors can take a tour of the Palladian mansion, go sculpture spotting in the Capability Brown parkland, or lose themselves in the 3D maze. The site is also a great base from which to explore the villages and landscapes of the Cotswolds.
