Non-electric grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Really loved it. Very clean and tidy facilities with loads of tourist flyers and contact details if have questions. The kitchen and kettle were also much appreciated! And there were plenty of options for pitches with the beautiful river right there which my dog loved.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely pitch by the river. Saw a kingfisher and heron! Walk to town for fish n chips just 10 minutes away. The riverside pitches are sought after, in the huge camping area a family turned up and pitched 15 feet away - but some people don't really understand camping etiquette! Amazing Site with friendly owners.

Non-electric grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked The site is located in gorgeous scenery with good nearby walking routes. Great facilities and laid back, friendly owners.

Disliked On-site cafe is v handy and well-stocked, but service needs improving as it’s not very well organised.

From the manager: Just want to add that the cafe a is separately run business to the Campsite. Thank you for your review though. 😊

Local attractions

As you’ll probably be skipping about either side of Offa’s Dyke, it makes sense to start your trip with a visit to the Offa’s Dyke centre (five minutes’ drive) to find out about the ancient landmark. For other walking trails, head to the Elan Valley or Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (both 40 minutes). For a closer look at the natural world, plan trips to the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre (25 minutes) or stop by at the Red Kite Feeding Station (40 minutes) to see these splendid beasts in flight. The Spaceguard Centre observatory (10 minutes) is also worth a visit if you’d like to find out more about the skies overhead. Castle outings are part of the landscape for trips here too – perhaps to the impressive 13th-century fortifications of Stokesay Castle (half an hour) or the art-filled rooms and colourful gardens of Powis Castle and Garden (50 minutes). If you’d rather skip straight to the garden strolls, try Hergest Croft Gardens (25 minutes).
