  • Simple site in the middle of the Peak District National Park
  • A 15-minute drive from Bakewell, Castleton and Blue John Cavern
  • Scenic dog-friendly site with village pub five minutes' walk
When it comes to stays in the Peak District National Park, sometimes all you need is a simple and peaceful place to lay your head for the night, with basic facilities but very little to distract you from the gorgeous views all around. (Oh, and maybe a pub within walking distance…) If that's the sort of thing you seek, you’ll likely be most happy with your lot at South View Farm Camping. This is wild-ish camping (in that it’s got a toilet block and running water), spread over roughly four acres and on a very slight incline. As well as having fabulous views over to Bradwell Edge, there’s a gliding club close by, so you may spot some folk taking to the air. As befits a wild-style site, there's a laidback atmosphere in which you'll be allowed to bring a barbecue or light up a campfire, and dogs are welcome as long as they're kept under control and on a lead. There's a sink on site for topping up your drinking water, as well as washing-up sinks and rubbish bins. And that pub? It’s a mere five-minute walk along a footpath to the village of Little Hucklow and a pint of something local in the garden or by the fire (and a meal too, if you like). For more eating options, the local villages of Bradwell and Tideswell are about five minutes' drive away and have pubs, shops and takeaways. Working up an appetite for your dinner should be straightforward here, as you’ll be pretty much right in the centre of the national park with easy access to all the top hikes, activities and attractions.

Liked: The site was absolutely stunning with the most amazing views. The site was very clean with plenty of space to spread out. Which was perfect for us being a couple with a dog. Once booked I was sent the location for the site via WhatsApp with the what 3 words and multiple links for maps which made finding the site really easy and stress free. The toilets were really clean with plenty of toilet roll and hand soap. The washing up facilities were also really clean and stocked with washing up liquid and blue roll. The owners are really friendly and inviting. Fire wood, fire lighters and fire pits are available if required. There’s also an honesty box with loads of snacks! We were also given a 10% off drinks voucher for the pub down the road (5 minute walk) for a couple drinks! Overall this campsite is great value for money and you will not be disappointed. We will be back!

Pubs reachable through doable walks, ideally if its not raining of course. Facilities of high quality and constantly checked on. Thank you so much Jade! Definitely will be visiting again. Bartosz.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked: Fantastic wild camping experience with a lovey wash up station and toilets! Amazing views and the owner Jade is fantastic, so friendly. The honesty box with a selection of goodies is great, we certainly loved the farm fresh eggs. The 5minute stagger to the pub really is just 5mins and the pub itself is lovely. A fantastic location that escapes the busy bustle of the Peaks.

Liked: Great communication from the owner Jade even before we got to the campsite & during our stay. The cleanest portaloos we have ever seen at a campsite. Stunning scenery and massive choice of pitches. Running water and honesty box if you fancy a treat. The Blind Bull pub was very close.
