Caravan jobs in Hull under threat

25 jobs are under threat in Hull after a static caravan and holiday lodge manufacturer went into administration.
Normandy Holiday Homes Ltd has had a 40% drop in sales since last year caused by a drop in export orders and a disruption to its supply chain. Administrators Begbies Traynor were appointed on Friday and 19 staff were made redundant last week.
A Begbies Traynor representative said that despite a turnover of over £5 million in 2011, Normandy had been hit by reduced orders in Europe following the eurozone crisis, as well as having problems with local suppliers.
‘In addition, slow payment by its UK holiday park and caravan retailer customers which have been unable to sell units this year due to the impact of the dreadful summer, was also a major factor in the failure,’ he said.
‘Our focus now is to recover as much of the creditors’ funds as we can, as well as ensuring as many of the workforce as possible remain employed.’
