- Spacious RV park right by the Green River and off Highway 45
- Horseshoe Bend 10 minutes' drive; Dinosaur National Monument 20 mins
- Clubhouse facilities for guests, plus recreational kit rentals
Right by the highway… and right by a stunning river too. Vernal RV Resort is a real winner for managing to combine two huge perks into one excellent Utah location.
You’ll only need to make a short diversion off Highway 45 to get to this RV park right on the banks of the Green River. Being by the river of course makes this a scenic spot, but there's more to it than that, as it’s surrounded by BLM land designated for recreational use, and it's got a private beach from which guests can fish or launch their watersports craft. Don’t have your own? Don’t worry – various recreational rentals are available at the resort according to the season (fishing poles, kayaks, bikes and snowmobiles among them).
Your outings might take you to nearby hotspots like Dinosaur National Monument or Ashley National Forest, or just along the highway to Horseshoe Bend – a particular favourite among the locals. You don’t, in fact, have to go far for some gorgeous views, however – the resort itself is often treated to stunning sunrises, sunsets and starry displays by night.
There's plenty of space at the resort, too – sites have been designed to accommodate all sizes of RV, plus whatever outdoor toys you might like to bring along for your break. Guests also have access to convenient amenities including barbecue pits, games of corn hole and horseshoes, and a clubhouse with a shop, a laundry, bathrooms and freshly brewed coffee every morning. The city of Vernal is only about 15 minutes' drive away for shops and places to eat out.

Local attractions
It’s all about the stunning natural landscapes around here, with plenty of protected areas to include on your tours of the area. A good place to start is Easter Egg Hill (10 minutes' drive), which has great views over Horseshoe Bend. After that, head further down into the ‘bend' itself to snap more more pics and find a good riverside picnic spot.
Birdwatchers will then want to make their way to Stewart Lake Waterfowl Management Area (20 minutes), while hikers and ATV drivers explore the scenery of Dinosaur National Monument (half an hour) or the woodland trails of Ashley National Forest (35 minutes). The incredible 200-mile Book Cliffs, said to look like a stack of books, are well worth a drive, too.
Vernal (15 minutes) has a few things to detain you while you're out shopping – not least the giant pink brontosaurus model that welcomes you to the city. There are also several activity providers that can sort you with days of rafting or tubing.
