Hidden away among secluded fields accessed by dirt road, Moon In The Pond Farm has a variety of accommodations scattered around a small farm in the southern Berkshire hills near Sheffield, Massachusetts. Whatever time of year you visit, the forest and fields are alive with nature and natural activity. With some much space surrounding you, your only companions are likely to be the farm dog and cattle herds grazing happily in neighboring paddocks – your own dogs are welcome too, but must be kept in a leash around livestock. The farm is situated on preserved land surrounded by thousands of acres of wild, countryside. Facilities on the pitches are fairly limited – portable toilets are provided but there is no lighting around the grounds so please remember to pack torches for any nocturnal wanderings. The lack of light on site does have a benefit, however, as the Milky Way dazzles in the sky above on clear nights. You have a choice of catering too. There’s a small shop on the farm, with seasonal produce offerings or you can spark up the barbecue and pick up basics from the handy store in Sheffield (five minutes’ drive). If you’d rather not cook, take a tour of the taverns, pizzerias and fine-dining establishments within 15 minutes’ drive.
