It's free, quick and easy!
- Peaceful glampsite surrounded by sea, forest and mountains at Uzunyurt
- Beach a few steps away; Butterfly Valley Waterfall half an hour’s walk
- Buffet restaurant and beach bars; snorkelling, kayaking and boat trips
It’s all about the scenery at Butterfly Valley, a tiny gem of a coastal glampsite at Uzunyurt, south of Fethiye. Tucked among trees at the base of soaring rocky cliffs and steps back from Butterfly Valley Beach, this peaceful place is so out of the way that it can only be reached by boat from Ölüdeniz – but when you do arrive, you’re surrounded by nature in the lush valley home of more than 80 species of butterfly.
And everywhere you look, there’s something spectacular… Butterfly Valley Waterfall cascades down the steep cliffside backing the campsite, and from the simple accommodation units there are views over the Mediterranean Sea and its rocky coastline.
Everything is set up for lazy days in the sun… hang out with fellow guests at laid-back beach bars, or snooze in a hammock while topping up the tan. Catch a spectacular sunset over the Med, and drift leisurely up to the open-air buffet restaurant to feast on world cuisine.
If you’d prefer a bit more action, join yoga sessions or spend your days snorkelling and kayaking off the sand-and-shingle beach. For nights when you’re feeling sociable, there’s also a schedule of themed entertainment and live music.

Local attractions
You’ll need a pair of study walking boots to climb the testing cliff path up to Butterfly Valley Waterfall (half an hour’s walk). From there, you can carry on upwards to the Butterfly Valley observation point (45 minutes) for far-reaching views over craggy cliffs to the Med.
If that sounds like far too much hard work, hire snorkelling gear at the diving school and have a splash around in the pristine waters. From the beach, you can also take day cruises in traditional ‘gulet’ boats to explore hidden coves and sheltered bays along the coastline.
Add a bit of classical history into your holiday mix with a visit to remote Pinara Antique City (an hour and 10 minutes’ drive up a winding mountain road), thought to date as far back as the fifth century BCE. Largely untouched, the site sprawls across the stunning Xanthos Valley, and you can wander at will around the crumbling amphitheatre, temples and acropolis, all overlooked by layer upon layer of rock tombs cut deep into the cliffside.
