Beaches in one direction, mountains in the other… if you like a bit of variety in your holiday scenery, you should certainly be pleased with the Galicia location of Camping As Nevedas. This family-run campsite is in a rural spot that’s just under four kilometres from the coast and 15 minutes’ drive from Carballo. Naturally, this sort of location means easy access to all manner of outdoor activities, whether you fancy taking your bike out on forest trails, hiking along coast paths, going horse riding (in the woods or on the beach), trying your luck with your fishing rods or donning scuba tanks to go out diving. Prefer to take it easy? There are several gorgeous beaches close by – including the stretches at Razo, Baldaio and Caión. (If you’re not familiar with this area, by the way, don’t let the name ‘Costa da Morte’ put you off – it gained its deathly name from the number of shipwrecks that happened along its rocky length in the past but it’s perfectly welcoming to visitors…) Being so close to the coast, there’s a good supply of seafood in the area – and guests can sample it easily enough at the on-site restaurant, where you’re also welcome to settle in for a cool drink at the bar. Other facilities on site include a swimming pool, a paddling pool, a play area and a games room – along with lots of handy amenities such as a launderette, washing-up area and toilet/shower block. As this is a rural spot well removed from urban areas you can expect some fabulous stargazing on clear nights.

Liked: Beautiful views, apart from the birds dining, beautifully peaceful.
The owners, very friendly and helpful & a bonus if fresh baked bread every morning.
Shower block clean & very hot water, looking a little bit run down, but perfectly functioning.
Fantastic WiFi connection.
Overall, loved it, planning on coming back on my way back to the UK.

Liked: Very friendly atmosphere. Jolly proprietors, good food and views at the terrace bar/ restaurant, spacious pitches and good facilities. Good wifi at the bar.

Disliked: Not so good for dog walking in local area.

Liked: Friendly and welcoming hosts to this gem of a site. Clean facilities and quiet. There is a bar which serves food. Plenty of lovely beaches nearby including Caion. However, you will be easier to drive to them. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the local area.

Liked: Beautiful location, clean facilities with dependable supply of hot water, toilet roll, paper towels. Nice bar with a good menu, clean swimming pools and quiet campsite at night (no parties etc).

Disliked: Dogs barking in the night. Not all staff were always friendly.

Local attractions

Beach hunters should be pretty pleased with what they’ll find in these surroundings… The nearest beach is Caión (five minutes’ drive), and it’s a lovely place with fine, soft sand and clear waters for days of sunbathing and swimming. Baldaio, a little further along the coast, is another long sandy stretch that’s suitable for families, while Razo (15 minutes) is the place to go for surfing and surf lessons. If you’d like to get stuck into outdoor activities, maybe stroll next door to the horse riding school or ask on site for advice on the best places for fishing, hiking, cycling or diving. City life and seaside come together in one place over in A Coruña (25 minutes), where you can climb to the top of the Torre de Hércules (the world’s oldest working lighthouse), see marine life at Aquarium Finisterrae and see all sorts of intriguing exhibits at Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia – and also find some great places to eat.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

General

Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 07/01 and 08/31 (subject to weather conditions).

Reception

Reception is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. between 02/07 and 12/09.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
