How much do you love sunshine? Count the days, if you will... the area of Alicante containing Camping La Pedrera gets over 325 days of lovely sun each and every year. And with temperatures average around 20 degrees here – sí, even in winter – you'd be forgiven for packing your bags straight away and heading out here faster than you could say 'escape the British cold months'. This is a nifty location for nature buffs too, as La Pedrera is bang in the centre of a natural park and only four kilometres from Embalse de la Pedrera, the biggest marsh in Alicante province (there's free reservoir fishing here too if you're in possession of the required paperwork). Everyday life is easy at Camping La Pedrera, as the folk here have got all the essentials sorted: they've kitted the place out with a launderette, toilet and shower blocks with free hot water, and free wifi that stretches across the site. Barbecue and picnic areas are on site for alfresco eats, or you can retreat to the bar-restaurant for meals, drinks, games of pool and TV sessions. And there are sunny leisure options here too: an outdoor pool, a large playground and a cosy kids' playhouse, all free for guests' use.

Liked: Large sheltered pitches with water and electric which were great and staff were fabulous and tried their best to make out stay comfortable as possible!

Disliked: Bathroom lights were on a timer which meant you ended up sitting on the toilet or showering in the dark which was very uncomfortable as a female

Liked: En general todo. La parcela es grande con luz y agua. Los baños están bastante limpios. La zona de niños está apartada. La piscina y zona de chiringuito muy bien.

Disliked: El orario del chiringuito. Por qué el lunes está todo el día cerrado y los demás días de la semana el horario es corto y espacioso (10:00 a 14:30 y de 18:30 a 22:00 ). Ya que el camping no dispone de restaurante ni tienda de alimentación.

Liked: Most of tge facilities where not available..plus the pool was open to non residents .so too busy..very disappointed..we left after 3 days...i pd 400.00..ans it was useless..u r selling things u dontt have..resturants etc..
I think we should have 90% refund

Balneário sempre limpo

Disliked: Bar e restaurante nem sempre estão abertos.
Os balneários têm temporizador de luz e pode desligar a meio do banho, a pessoa tem de ir nua acender novamente a luz.
O parque permite circulação de carros a qualquer hora da noite e acorda os hóspedes. Deveriam limitar um horário para circulação de veículos.

Liked: Small family campsite nice and peaceful, away from the busy coastline. Lots of spanish families on holiday. Great little pool bar with good prices. 16amp hookup so perfect for the aircon. Nice pool to cool off not busy on our visit. Will stay for a few more nights on our way back up north in a couple of months.

Liked: Site nice. Good facilities.

Disliked: Poor reception staff. No bar on Wednesday. Restaurant also closed. Ridiculous in mid summer. Very disappointed.

Liked: Not a lot!

Disliked: Zero atmosphere. Had to ring a phone number to get pitch. Everything closed up like mid winter. Soul less! Other guests agreed! Couldn't even get a coffee and had to drive to next town to get anything to eat. Local town was also all closed and the area is miserable.

Liked: Covered spacious pitch so plenty of shade. Swimming looked nice but didn't go in.

Disliked: Entrance gate, with immediate right turn after was tricky to navigate with towing an 8mtr caravan.

Site is set on a hill so lots of uphill walking as we took our dog out daily.

There is an events complex near by where there was a function held on the Saturday night. Music was quite loud and went on till early hours of the morning (after 2.30am!).

Local attractions

It's a mere short drive to Embalse de la Pedrera, the biggest marsh in Alicante and in the natural park surrounding Camping La Pedrera. Hike or bike along some of the many trails here among over 30,000 trees, barbecue areas and a duck pond. It's free to fish here too, but you'll need a local Valencian fishing licence. The Orihuela and Redovan mountains are within a short drive and it's about 18 kilometres to the watersports, beaches, shops and restaurants around the coast of Torrevieja, Guardamar del Segura and Orihuela. Also recommended in the area are Aquopolis waterpark, the menagerie at Rio Safari Elche, Pola Park at Santa Pola, and a day at Tabarca Island nearby, famed for its pirate past and, these days, for its protected marine reserve.

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
