Come to Camping Cañón del Río Lobos in Castile and León's Soria province for active hols, as it's slap bang in the centre of the Cañón del Río Lobos Natural Park, stretching over 25 kilometres and crisscrossed with hiking and mountain biking trails. Once you've traversed all those, the hikes of another national park are an hour away and trails leading from local town Soria are within five kilometres. Guests also base themselves here to get to the best of the provinces of Soria and Burgos and their tiny villages and hamlets, spectacular scenery, the mountains of the Iberian system and the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Burgos city. A seasonal pool is on site, open throughout the summer season and surrounded by a solarium, just the ticket for lazy afternoons or peaceful siestas, followed by a cool drink and then tapas on the terrace at the bar-restaurant… A communal barbecue is also around if you'd rather sizzle your own stuff. Camping Cañón del Río Lobos also has a playground, two tennis courts and a football pitch. Free wifi is available in the communal areas.

Liked: Compact site and good facilities. Didn’t have to walk ages to toilets or shower or wash up. Clear pitches. Near good walks, lots of shade which was good when it was so hot.

Disliked: Ok sized pitches.

Disliked: Totalmente abandonado y en mal estado. Lo de los baños vergonzoso. Lo que era un camping genial (por lo menos hace 6 años) ha pasado a ser el peor camping donde he estado nunca

Liked: El entorno, la tranquilidad, la piscina. El personal amable. El tamaño del camping hace que sea tranquilo y transitable para niños pequeños, es un entorno seguro.

Disliked: Los baños, estaban sucios y uno de ellos inundado el 100% del tiempo
Po. El bar con comida rica, pero excesivamente lento el servicio, faltaba personal. La vegetación entre parcelas estaba seca, le falta mantenimiento a las parcelas.
El wifi no funcionaba, había que estar en recepción para tener algo de señal.

Liked: Staff helpful on arrival and we were able to chose our pitch. Most of the other campers (choice of type of pitch for camper vans etc) were Spanish/ European and the site was quiet and hassle free. The pool was fine as was the bar food, wheee anther staff worked hard. Would revisit for the locatio with lovely twisty turns on the roads and incredible vies on the routs in and out!

Local attractions

The site's smashing setting in the Cañón del Río Lobos Natural Park has it splendidly placed for outdoorsy days around the hiking and mountain bike trails of this 25-kilometre canyon. Other popular hikes in the region are around the ravines and gorges of natural monument the Fuentona de Muriel nature reserve, ending up at the beaut medieval village and castle of Calatañazor; or in the Laguna Negra y los Circos Glaciares de Urbion Natural Park, within an hour's drive of Camping Cañón del Río Lobos. The town of Soria, five kilometres from the site, has a number of walking tours worth doing, such as San Polo and San Prudencio, la Ermita de San Saturio and Los Arcos de San Juan de Duero; ask at the campsite reception for more information. Seventeen kilometres away is the lovely old city of Burgo de Osma, famed for its cathedral, the Plaza Mayor and its Old Town.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11:30 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The restaurant is open between 07/01 and 09/30.
