- Family-run site close to Cabopino beach in Marbella
- Two swimming pools, outdoor gym and a pétanque court
- Computer courses and Spanish classes available in winter
Several site features jostle for best of show at Marbella's Camping Cabopino, but the family-run team here would probably put the warm welcome and relaxed vibe at the top of their list. Family-run and family-friendly, this cordial place has an amiable atmosphere at its main aim, on a well-maintained site with facilities and activities for all ages.
Camping Cabopino is a 10-minute stroll from the golden sands and clean, shallow waters of Cabopino beach, between Cabopino port and the protected area of the Artola sand dunes. It's about 15 minutes' drive along the coast from Marbella (or take the bus from Cabopino town), and within a few minutes' walk of restaurants, a pizzeria and bars. A golf course is just across the road.
The team has laid on loads to ensure guests have a tiptop Spanish time, including two pools (one covered, heated and open all year), an outdoor gym, a multisports area and a pétanque court – and stacks of activities and entertainment such as pilates, kayaking, aquagym, archery and a kids' club. It doesn't stop in the cooler months either: this inventive lot arranges computer courses and Spanish classes to keep everyone occupied.
A well-stocked supermarket is on site for supplies, as well as two Italian restaurants and an Indian eatery if you want to dine out.

Local attractions
Restaurants and chiringuitos (beach bars) are abundant around the nearby beach and Cabopino town, and the means for jetskiing, boat hire and dolphin watching trips on and around its waters. The town's famed too as a hangout for the rich and famed, so if celeb spotting is your bag, make for Puerto Banus port to see who you can spy aboard their luxurious yachts.
From Cabopino, catch a bus for the short ride along the coast to Marbella, home of yet more celebs and millionaires such as George Clooney and Simon Cowell (many more can be spotted in the wild here every summer on their hols). Also in town are 24 beaches, ancient city walls, swish Golden Mile villas, several museums and a clutch of posh boutiques for serious shopping.
More walls are at Ronda, the town that was a fave of Hemingway, or you could (should) mooch along to Málaga, one of the oldest cities in Europe and with sights galore to see including the Roman theatre, Alcazaba fortress and famed Picasso Museum.
