If you’re longing for peace and space, Holiday Park De Toffe Peer has both in plentiful supply. Handily situated in the countryside near the secluded village of Ruinerwold in Drenthe and overlooking its own vineyard, it’s also close to three national parks and within cycling distance of Giethoorn, the ‘Venice of the North’. The campsite is situated on the Dokter Larijweg, a 7.5 kilometre-long avenue lined by pear orchards – they look wonderful when covered with blossom in spring, and in autumn the leaves turn golden. Family-centric with spacious pitches, this is an ideal base for cycling and walking adventures in flat countryside. If you wish, you can mix things up with a day of shopping and dining in the lively, canal-side towns like Meppel (10 minutes), Steenwijk (20 minutes) or Zwolle (25 minutes). Facilities for families on site include free wifi (good for keeping tabs on the kids), go-karts in the playground and a shower block with a parent and baby rooms. There’s a pond for splashing around in, and plenty of open lawns for kids to let off steam safely. And – the bliss of it – you can all help to feed the resident goats, sheep, chickens and ducks.

Disliked: Spaziergang mit dem Hund nur an der Straße möglich. Ständiger Lärm von Rasentraktoren auf dem Platz. Fahrzeug muss abseits auf einem Parkplatz abgestellt werden. Platzherr nicht sehr freundlich.

From the manager: Bedankt voor het delen van uw ervaring. We vinden het jammer te lezen dat u het niet naar uw zin heeft gehad bij ons op het park. Wat betreft de auto, klopt deze staan op de parkeerplaats dicht bij de caravan. Dit zodat iedereen mooi uitzicht heeft. 1 keer per week wordt het terrein gemaaid, waarbij bij u gevraagd en gewacht is met maaien, dit om ons park netjes en schoon te houden. Het uitlaten van uw huisdier is buiten ons park om zo mogelijke ontlasting op ons park te voorkomen. Wij liggen centraal tussen 3 natuurgebieden waardoor er eindeloos wandel plezier is voor u en uw huisdier. Wij kregen niet de indruk tijdens uw verblijf/vertrek dat u het niet naar uw zin heeft gehad.
Wij wensen u een heel mooi kampeer seizoen.

Liked: Schönes Wetter und großzügige Fläche .

Disliked: Leider war keine Möglichkeit zu angeln auf dem Platz wie angeboten , so wie eine saubere Schwimmgelegenheit .
Für meinen 13 jährigen Sohn war es leider sehr langweilig .
Nicht viel beschäftigen am Platz außer ein kleinen Spielplatz und zwei Kettcars.
Obwohl wir am letzten Tag gesehen haben das es ganz in der Nähe ein indoor Spielplatz gibt , worauf man uns hätte hinweisen können .
Und jetzt sagen sie mir nicht wir hätten die 20 tausend Prospekte durchlesen können .
Auch das Rasenmähern war nervig ,es ist in Ordnung das sie ihren Platz sauber halten wollte , aber muss das jeden Tag sein ? In den ersten drei Tagen haben sie jeden Tag rasengemäht . Und dann waren sie fast jeden zweiten Tag irgendwo anders am mähen .
Und noch ein Punkt , dieser Waschraum der auf ihrer Seite abgebildet ist , gehört nicht zu dem einen Waschraum der für den ganzen Platz zugänglich ist , wobei immer zwei duschen und Toiletten abgeschlossen waren .
Gemischte Dusche und Toiletten.

Op Pitchup.com staat dat duidelijk beschreven dat er een vijver is waarin kan worden gezwommen, en wordt de mogelijkheid van vissen niet genoemd. Verder refereren wij aan voorgaande review aangezien dit uw ouders zijn. Wat betreft aan activiteiten hebben wij een digitaal platform in diverse talen en een folderwand. Van beide heeft u gebruik kunnen maken. Jammer dat voor u en uw ouders het niet is bevallen.

Local attractions

You don’t have to go far for a fun day out with the kids. Treat younger children to climbing courses and mini-tractor rides at De Drentse Koe (15 minutes’ walk) or the petting zoo and gentle carousel rides at Plopsa Indoor Coevorden. And at Wildlands (both 40 minutes), climb aboard a boat for jungle cruises past elephant and giraffe enclosures. There are more boat trips to be had in gorgeous Giethoorn (25 minutes), where you can chug down canals past thatched 13th-century farmhouses. If you’d rather be exploring on dry land, it’s a short hop to cycling and hiking trails in De Weerribben-Wieden National Park (half an hour). Two other parks are also worth a day trip: the Drents-Friese Wold (15 minutes) for cycling in woodland, while there are moorland walks in Dwingelderveld National Park (half an hour). There’s plenty of history around here too, with prehistoric dolmens at Diever (20 minutes), and you can learn about Drenthe’s role in WWII at the Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork (half an hour), a memorial centre in a former transit camp.
