One does not need to have gone to Tuscany more than once to surmise that the views around this region are really rather splendid. But the views from peaceful and remote Campeggio Blucamp in the Livorno province are ones that you'll assess as utterly spectacular within seconds of arrival. And why? Because Blucamp is set high on a hillside, that's why. Within easy strolling distance of the medieval village of Campiglia Marittima, in viewsome fact, and eight kilometres from the sea – so the sights from this gorgeous setting span both green countryside and deep blue waters. Campeggio Blucamp is surrounded by olive groves, in peaceful Tuscan countryside that's a hit for hiking, watersports and horse riding as well as more placid pursuits like bubbling gently in one of the local thermal baths. Vineyards, medieval villages, a coastal nature reserve, and several beaches (also mighty scenic) are within easy reach. Leisure facilities include a pool, playground and games room. The bar-restaurant, open all day from breakfast onwards for meals and takeaways, comes with (but of course) first-rate views aplenty from its roomy terrace too. Tennis is available within a kilometre of the site and horse riding three kilometres away.

Disliked: Cold showers, couldn’t connect to wifi. Bar very basic and people allowed to arrive late in the evening so kept us up.

Liked: Campeggio fresco in collina, molto silenzioso (davvero piacevole dormire col suono dei grilli), a due passi dal bellissimo borgo di Campiglia Marittima, acqua fredda potabile gratuita, docce calde gratuite, freezer gratuito per poter raffreddare ghiaccioli e bottiglie d'acqua. Accoglienza e staff pregevole, ristorante bar e piscina molto comodi, posizione strategica, molto bello, ci è piaciuto.

Disliked: A volte la sera non è stato possibile trovare posteggio auto vicino alla piazzola ma ne ho approfittato per fare due passi.

Liked: We were happy with our stay. The campsite is in a beautiful location and has a very relaxed atmosphere. The facilities are great. The pool is in a panoramic position next to the bar/restaurant which offers delicious food.
The shower block was always very clean and tidy and well maintained.
Also the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Liked: Restaurangen på campingen var hade trevlig personal och polområdet hade stor pol. Utsikten på campingen var också fin.

Disliked: Väldigt dåligt städat på campingen. Det Wi-Fi som fanns fungerade endast på pool området. Vi fick byta plats flera gånger för att El uttaget fungerade ej. Dem hade ingen husbil service för att tömma toan. Precis bredvid campingen finns det en gård där hundar skäller hela tiden.

ci dispiace che non abbia apprezzato il suo soggiorno in campeggio. Ci stupisce la sua recensione negativa visto che, che dopo aver prenotato una notte, visitato il campeggio abbiate chiesto di prolungare una seconda notte.

Non ci risultano lamentele per un campeggio sporco come da voi indicato.

La corrente è presente su tutte le piazzole, nelle prima sistemazione c'era un difetto tecnico sulla colonnina, ma l'abbiamo spostata su una piazzola di livello superiore senza farle pagare alcun supplemento. Ha ragione per quanto riguarda il wifi, funziona bene solo nell'area della piscina, ma questo è dovuto alla conformazione del campeggio. Il camper service non lo abbiamo e non è indicato da nessuna parte.

Siamo desolati che i cani del vicino vi abbiano disturbato.

Local attractions

Blucamp is only 700 metres from the must-see medieval town of Campiglia Marittima, also high on a Tuscan hill overlooking countryside and sea. It was settled in medieval times, but has remnants of Etruscan and Roman occupation too: the tale of it all is at the acclaimed Archaeological-Mineral Park of San Silvestro, covering 450 hectares to the north of the town. The Rocca di Campiglia fortress and Dongione Museum are also much recommended in Campiglia Marittima; if you seek a more serene visit, check out the Calidario thermal baths, where relaxed types can sort a session in the sauna, Turkish bath or tepidarium, or have a massage or wellbeing treatment. More days of luxury can be arranged at the thermal spas of Venturina, 10 minutes' drive away. Also within 10 minutes' drive, have walking or beach days – or both – in yet more spectacular surroundings at Rimigliano Coastal Park, set on the sands but with several trails snaking into the countryside behind. For sailing lessons, scuba diving and more sands, the Gulf of Baratti is 20 minutes away.
