You’ll certainly want to raise a toast to your Tuscany surroundings when you’re staying at Azienda Agricola La Campana d’Oro – and what better way to do it than with some of the beer brewed right there on site? This tasty-sounding site is in the grounds of an old farm dating back to the early 19th century and now transformed into an agriturismo site with its very own brewery. The company takes care of the whole process here, from sowing the grain to bottling the beer, and guests can see much of the action by signing up for brewery tours during their stay – with a chance to sample the range of products too, alongside some favourite local snacks. Lunch and dinner can be sorted on site too if you want them, and there are plenty of places to eat, drink or pick up supplies in Bibbiena town centre, just under two kilometres away. Barbecues are permitted on site, so you may like to think about that as an option for an alfresco evening meal. In between bites and beers, there’s plenty to keep you busy locally: perhaps take walks in the Casentinesi Forests National Park, visit historic attractions like Camaldoli monastery and the castle in Poppi, or further your foodie adventures by going out truffle hunting with a local expert. The hardstanding pitches at the farm are fairly simple in style, but all have access to amenities including toilets, showers and free wifi. There's also a games room for a bit of easy on-site entertainment.

Vreselijk pad met grote losse stenen

Oude douche met deur die moeilijk te sluiten was met de sleutel

From the manager: Gentile signora, innanzitutto sono molto dispiaciuta per il suo disprezzo nei confronti della nostra struttura, in mia difesa vorrei (per chi legge) assolutamente contestare il giudizio sul bagno , ma come fa a dire che la doccia è vecchia e stata fatta da due anni solo con pezzi originali e antichi, questo nostro casale e un antico immobile del1800 censito come storico dalla sovraintendenza , i pezzi che lo compongono sono per me di valore anche sentimentale essendo dei miei nonni , inoltre sorrido pensando alla chiave del bagno che per chiudere basta girarla, ma come possibile che non abbiate chiuso bene la porta. la localizzazione della nostra struttura è questa ormai da 300 anni , pensavamo di fare cosa gradita dando ospitalità e prezzo molto conveniente , inoltre non abbiamo sentieri non so a cosa si riferisce ma non sono d'accordo e chiedo a Pitchup di poter mandare le foto in modo da giustificare che ciò che afferma non è del tutto corretto.chi ci conosce sa quanto teniamo al nostro lavoro e alla nostra gradita clientela.

Liked: Perfect setting in a beautiful hill, with convenient water points dotted around the ground, saved us to go back to the main house to fill up. The facility were amazing with a proper bathroom with hot shower and a washing machine.

Liked: Everything! Beautiful setting, a small and peaceful site with plenty of space between the pitches. A friendly welcome from the owners who didn't bother us once. Just a short drive to the local town. The facilities were very clean and the shower hot (extra €2). Use of the washing machine (€3) was a bonus. Excellent value and one of the nicest Italian sites we have stayed at.

Disliked: Not a dislike, but worth a mention that there's only one room with a toilet and shower, which might be awkward if the site gets busy.

Liked: Small relaxed site amongst the olive trees. Fantastic hosts who could not do enough for us. Great food in the restaurant and brilliant selection of beers brewed in the on-site micro brewery.

Liked: The pitch was level, tidy and close to the useful shared shower/toilet, washing up area and a very nice restaurant.

Disliked: Just 2 or 3 Shared EHU points meant cables trailed across roadway and parking was limited to near the building. The night we stayed was somewhat disturbed by a noisy party going on until late at the restaurant

From the manager: Buongiorno , grazie per il suo feedback,Posso segnalare che abbiamo 5 punti di corrente ognuno con 4 entrate, essendo quasi tutto vuoto quando siete venuto potevate allacciare senza far passare un cavo in mezzo alle piazzole....Avevamo una festa con bimmi di 3/4 anni che sono stati vivaci e ci rammarica che vi abbiano disturbato, ma posso assicurare che prima della mezzanotte erano gia a casa, credo che in estate e' difficile trovare luoghi senza persone , ci rimettiamo sempre al uon senso dei nostri clienti chiedendo di fare silenzio ma ai bambini all aperto non e davvero possibile . Sara' cmq sempre un piacere rivedervi.

Local attractions

Work up a thirst for your evening drinks with a long walk among the tree-lined trails of Casentinesi Forests National Park (15 minutes’ drive), an e-bike tour or a horseback outing from the stables five minutes’ drive away. There’s a public pool in Bibbiena if you feel the need to cool off upon return. If you like your strolls to take in historic sights, set off to the Castle of the Earls Guidi in Poppi (10 minutes), the monastery and hermitage in Camaldoli (15 minutes) or the Franciscan monastery in Verna (35 minutes). The Lana Luigi Lombard Foundation Wool Art Museum is a good place to try too, for an insight into wool production techniques and a look at some rather lovely textiles. Planning to take in some of Tuscany’s top sights while you’re in the area? Arezzo is about 40 minutes’ drive away, and the farm is also within day-trip distance of Florence (an hour and a half) Siena (an hour and 40 minutes) and the towers of San Gimignano (two hours).
