This is a truly peaceful Puglia location – Agricampeggio Wishne is in the Lama Santa Croce Natural Park, a quiet spot between the seaside and the scrub of the Mediterranean countryside.
The small-scale glamping village that’s been set up here is not only peaceful but also has slow, sustainable tourism in mind, encouraging guests to appreciate their fabulous natural surroundings and tread lightly in an area that's still relatively little-visited. Eco-friendly aspects include compost toilets, and ‘slow travel’ concepts include not providing wifi, so guests can spend time appreciating their surroundings rather than being glued to gadgets.
The local area is full of intriguing low-key attractions too, including caves, castles and historic trulli. You'll also easily be able to get out for walks or bike rides nearby, or head to the coast for relaxed seaside days in Bisceglie or Giovinazzo – both also great places to try some of the local food and wine.
Back at base, you’ll be staying in a bell tent in an olive grove, with plenty of handy things provided including beds, bedding, atmospheric lighting and power sockets. Outside, a picnic table is provided so you can set up alfresco meals with things you’ve bought while out and about.

Local attractions
The 'slow travel’ vibe of this place means you're encouraged to seek out small local attractions and appreciate the natural surroundings rather than travelling around to far-flung major attractions. A good place to start is with a walk to Grotte di Santa Croce (10 minutes’ walk), where several prehistoric relics have been found. It’s only open at certain times to check before setting off.
For more hints of the area's history, visit the Dolmen of Chianca (five minutes' drive) and Santuario di Maria Santissima di Sovereto (20 minutes), or see the grand forts of Castello di Barletta (25 minutes) and Castel del Monte (half an hour). Add in a dose of art at Pinacotheca "Giuseppe De Nittis” (half an hour) and some tasty local food in one of the local towns (perhaps Ruvo di Puglia or Corato, both 10 minutes away) and you should start to get a good taste of your surroundings.
After that, perhaps a bit of seaside time? Bisceglie (15 minutes) and Giovinazzo (20 minutes) both have nice beaches, and Trani (15 minutes) has a historic cathedral and well-preserved Jewish quarter to wander around.
