  • Peaceful family site on Lake Annecy, surrounded by mountains
  • Windsurfing, paragliding, hang gliding and canyoning all nearby
  • Direct access to a public beach with waterski, kayak and pedalo rental
Ooh la la, the lakeside setting of Camping Le Lanfonnet is most magnifique. And this is not just any old lake – non, Lake Annecy is a veritable gem. The third largest in France, its clear waters are fed in by mountain streams to make up one of Europe’s cleanest lakes. Clearly, one must allow plenty of time for watery and waterside hours and hours, but there’s loads more to fill your days around here. A beach is a couple of minutes’ amble away from the site and two more lie within a 20-minute walk, for sunbathing days, canoeing, paddleboarding, scuba diving and heaps more. The site is well set up for activities too, with table tennis, table football, pétanque and a playground, as well as a TV room to retreat to for indoor times, and a bar-restaurant to fully investigate for local grub. Pick up essentials at the site grocery store in summer; at other times and for more shops, take a 20-minute stroll along the lakeside path to reach local village Talloires. A miniature golf course and tennis courts are up here too, and it’s the starting point for some great hiking and bike trails up into the hills. Restaurants and cafés are in the village and all along the lake shore for essential coffee and croissant pitstops or for a glass of vin with a view.

From the manager: Hello,

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience. The restroom facility near the lake reopened during the day on June 10th. We encountered technical issues and were unable to open it as planned.
Sincere apologies. The Lanfonnet Team

From the manager: Hallo,

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Location near the lake.
Nice friendly chap on reception.

Disliked: The noise from the bar/ restaurant and their car park which went on until gone 2am.
Toilet facilities were awful, scruffy, dirty and only a few toilets available near pitch.
No showers working.

From the manager: Hello,

Unfortunately, we encountered a problem with the start-up following an intervention by our plumber.
We apologize for the exceptional inconvenience. We were also surprised by the last-minute high volume of people.

Only one of our two restrooms was able to open with free and hot showers.

We have already reported the parking and catering issue to the town hall.

Please be assured that we are making every effort to welcome you in the best possible conditions.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Proximity to the lake, facilities at the lake (cafes, restaurants, bikes, board and kayak hire), friendly service, facilities were clean. We had a wonderful stay in superb weather. Pitches almost level and nice and grassy.

Disliked: Showers at the lake side area need to be opened in May.

Power optional grass campsite

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Lovely location 2 minutes from Lake Annecy.

Disliked: Unacceptable check-in. Madame watched me waiting for attention at the reception (including ringing the bell) as she finished her lunch and then sauntered over to check me in. This lack of customer care is reflected in shabby grounds and tired sanitary block which was just about acceptable. The small shop never opened while we were there. A shame as the location is beautiful.

Local attractions

Several hiking and cycling trails around the lake start from Talloires village – a popular route from here is the hour-long walk up to the Cascade d’Angon waterfall. To get to other walks in the area, such as those in the Bout du Lac natural reserve, take the car (20 minutes to the nature reserve) or pick up the bus or boat services running all around the lake. On the hillside above the village is the medieval Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where you can take a guided tour of some of its 100 rooms; pick from a traditional guided tour or one run by costumed actors to help fire up the kids’ imaginations. It’ll take you 15 minutes or so to drive up there or just over an hour to hike up. Watersports galore make the most of the gorgeous lake waters – just next to the site are waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing lessons and canoes and sailing boats for hire, and up in Talloires are a paddleboarding school and a scuba diving centre. If you’d like to combine your watery pursuits and mountain exploration, sign up for a canyoning trip from the adventure sports centre a couple of minutes’ walk from the site. Adrenaline junkies with an eye for a great view can fly over the lake on a paragliding flight from just outside Talloires; meanwhile, those of a gentler persuasion might prefer a round of golf at Lake Annecy Golf Course, 10 minutes away. The handsome old town of Annecy is half an hour's drive away.
