Total peace in remote location.
Calune 2 bedroom lodge
Liked: The total peace of the remote location. Loved the simplicity of the accommodation and facilities.
Jays and nuthatches and oaks everywhere. The cool natural pond for a swim before the man-made pool was ready.
The 'hands-off' approach of the owners.
Interesting garden and good restaurant up the road.
Very good value accommodation.
Disliked: Several unmaintained or impractical arrangements in the cabin we rented. The paper sheets provided lasted just a few nights before perishing. We had to buy our own cleaning materials to avoid paying the very high cleaning deposit. We didn't mind doing the cleaning but thought it was unreasonable not to provide enough equipment for us to do it. Take a tea towel.
