Camping Le Château de Chanteloup

Liked Everything about this place! The location, the setting and the services. Stylish without being ‘over-styled’. Simply beautiful.
The pitches are very generous and all placed around the edge of the fields. So spacious and lovely compared to campsites where everyone is crammed in every space.

Disliked It was higher end of our price bracket but we were only staying one night.

Liked Really nice campsite on amazing grounds. Perfect balance of spacious camping in the woods and facilities. The kids loved the pool and Fright Night entertainment!

Liked What a great site - the best from our 2 week tour of France. Large pitches, nice pool, and beautiful scenery.

Disliked Only 1 shower near our pitch so bit of a trek. And avoid the duck on the menu in the restaurant.

Liked Pretty much everything about this place is great.

Disliked Could do with an adult only area. Too many kids if you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

Liked Rustic chateau feel and very laid back atmosphere, hosts seemed very genuine and site was well equipped in a great location. Good family activities and a lovely pool area kept two young children well entertained over 4 days. On-site bar/shop/restaurant are great to have at hand, would visit again no question

Disliked Not a huge critique but chemical toilet disposal some distance from our particular pitch, male toilet area grubby and wasn’t spotlessly clean as I would expect from a 5* site, both male/female toilet areas needed minor maintenance seeing to (toilet seats loose, mouldy silicone on sinks)

Liked Excellent programme of activities eg. Sat evening bbq with wine and cheese provided free - this made for a sociable camping trip! Good pool and lovely setting in woodland. A great campsite if you want to spend lots of time on site.

Disliked There didn't seem to be many places to visit locally, except for Le Mans itself, although lots to do there.

Liked Location great for one night stop coming down from ferries to southern France. Easy check in. Shady pitches where we were (not all were). Nice pool and really lovely bar area.

Disliked Shower and toilet facilities were ok but not really enough for amount of campers.

Liked The setting was very pleasant. Staff were friendly although not well briefed- no knew how to book the ‘country meal’ they were advertising. We also had to wait a long time for reception to be manned on arrival (1600).

Disliked There were not enough showers and toilets. 1 disabled shower and 2 toilets for more than 30 pitches where we were. It was 300m to nearest alternative.

The staff was all new when you arrived, it takes a litle bit of time to remember everything but they are working hard ;) and at this very busy period, almost everyone arrives at the same time so it is hard to take care of all the arrivals at the same time :)
