What customers say

Great pitches & facilities. Enjoyed the bar, food, entertainment, & pool. Good location for Angers, chateaus, vineyards. Friendly staff. Caution: possible blue algae in River Louet. Some guests noted inconsiderate campers, service delays, and poor toilet upkeep.

Liked The welcome from the staff was amazing. The gentleman who checked us in explained everything thoroughly (in English too!)… and nothing was too much trouble for him.
The pitches that run next to the road were very spacious and the noise from the road is minimal.
The facilities were cleaned multiple times per day.
The mini farm was lovely.
Close to Angers.
We travelled to Puy du fou from here it was about an hour away.
Paddling in the Louet river.
Swimming pool was good fun.

Disliked This is not the staffs fault but the inconsiderate campers who failed to clean up after themselves spoil it for all… despite many notices telling them to mop/clean/wipe.

Liked We really liked this site. We read the reviews but we're a bit sceptical. It is lovely, quiet quiet. There was a dog barking some of the time, but it was ok. Loved the animals, donkey goats and sheep. It has a bar and snack, all good.

Disliked Much, much better than the reviews. I feel some comments were unfair, I believe it was good value for money.

Liked Good sized pitches.
Clean toilets and showers - plenty of them.
Good washing up and laundry facilities.
Good value bar, food and nightly entertainment.
Free entry into pool across the road.
Lovely walk into town.
Great location for exploring the local Chateaus and Vineyards (a couple within walking distance)
Small child farm.
Mini golf, table tennis and boules.

Disliked On a personal note the advertising of the beach onto River Louet and canoe hire suggests that the water is safe, but our dog was rushed to emergency vets with blue algae poisoning. We had to stay an extra 3 nights, and even then there were no signs to inform people of this danger.

Liked The pitch.

Disliked The toilets. They are the worst I’ve seen. We have been travelling around France these past few weeks and the toilets on this site were disgusting. They were mixed which is certainly not a problem for us, but when you have hardly any privacy in these small cubicles with large spaces under the door as well as doors that don’t lock properly it’s not a place we can stay in. They were very dirty too. The floor, the toilets themselves and the showers, well I wouldn’t have washed my dog in there. There were only 5 ‘working’ toilets on this site which was very busy as it was a bank holiday. We were out of there within 20 minutes after asking at the reception for a refund. The reception staff were very good and didn’t argue at all which makes us wonder if this happens more often than not. Definitely a place we’re not going back to.

Liked Nice pitch, on the river.

Disliked Service terrible. Waited 40 mins for a beer, only one man serving bar and cooking food. After getting the beer from bar area, queued for 20 mins for food, only to be told food was now finished.
Cancelled the stay on our return journey.

Local attractions

This being the Loire Valley, châteaux are within easy reach. Your local castles here (within a 20-minute drive) are the grand 17th-century Château de Serrant and the fab Château de Brissac, not only the tallest château in all the land but also home to a winery, an underground canal and a hidden mini opera house. Make the half-hour drive to Angers to visit the riverside château (and see the end of the world depicted in tapestry format) and get arty at Galerie David d’Angers, a converted abbey filled with sculptures. On the edge of town is Carré Cointreau, where you can see the famed liqueur being made. Top treats for tiddlers around these parts include the plant-themed Terra Botanica theme park (25 minutes’ drive), the epic miniature golf course at Parc de L’Arche (10 minutes) and Le Jardin Des Kangarous (also about 10 minutes away), where you can meet, feed and snap selfies with the 500 or so resident wallabies.
