  • Dog-friendly site in the town of Paimboeuf, on the banks of the Loire
  • Legendia Parc 15 minutes’ drive; Pornic 25 minutes; Nantes 55 minutes
  • Heated covered pool; playground; snack bar and summer entertainment
If you are planning a stay in Loire-Atlantique, try Camping l'Estuaire, a family establishment on the outskirts of the town of Paimboeuf. On site, large pines shade a range of accommodation options, and there are also facilities such as a play area for young and old (including swing-ball and home-ball games), a games room and a reading corner, and a small farm, plus a heated covered pool and two toilet blocks. During the months of July and August, the site comes alive with daytime and evening entertainment, from karaoke to sports tournaments. Or there might be musical artists playing live as you eat your way through a pan of moules-frites at the on-site snack bar, where you can also sample regional wines. This is a popular area for cycling, with trails through open countryside and along the Loire, where you can stop at the Observatoire des Géants industriels (10 minutes by bike) to gaze upon the hulks of industrial structures across the estuary. If you feel active, you can pedal all the way to the Bay of Biscay (35 minutes, or 10 minutes’ drive) and the Serpent d’Océan sculpture in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins. In addition to toilet blocks and showers (including facilities for disabled guests), the site has a launderette.

What customers say

Great spot! Staff are friendly, facilities are clean. Pool and bar are a hit. Nice, shaded setting with good bike routes. Just watch out for sloped pitches, refinery proximity, and occasional queues for amenities.

Primitive gravel and sand tent campsite (no cars)

Liked I really enjoyed my stay here, it’s a lovely park. It feels that there is a lot of space between the pitches, and that each pitch has some privacy.
The kids loved the pool, so this was a big hit. The staff were very friendly. And I felt that the facilities were excellent. The communal fridge and cooker in the bike section were a perfect bonus.

Powered gravel and sand campsite

Liked La taille du camping. Des emplacements pour van spacieux et ombragés. Une belle piscine, la mini ferme pour les enfants.

Disliked La propreté dans les sanitaires. Des cocktails avec du jus d orange de la marque bien vu.

Recommend to friends Visit again

Liked The pine trees and quiet restful atmosphere where the camper vans were.

Disliked Not enough toilets for such a large site with so many tents. Often queues at toilet blocks. Also very noisy at bar area and swimming pool.
