  • Between sea and mountain, close to the Spanish border and the Med
  • Five minutes' drive from the spa town of Amélie les Bains
  • Electric mountain bike hire, summer music evenings, library and pool
If you'd like to be deep in France's sunny south… with easy access to both the Spanish border and the Mediterranean coast, Aloha Camping Club is very much your site. Based just outside the Pyrénées-Orientales village of Reynès and a 15-minute drive from Céret, Aloha is 40 minutes from the splendid sands of Argelès-sur-Mer, home to the longest beach in the Pyrenées-Orientales. Spain is about the same distance: drive over the border to the colourful town of La Vajol in 50 minutes or to fab Figueres in an hour. If you (jolly sensibly) opt to to stick around the site for some significant time on your southern French stay, there's quite a bit to keep you amused for active or lazy hours. A wide variety of events, entertainment and activities are run from spring to autumn, including creative workshops, pétanque competitions, group walks or food nights highlighting typical meals of the region like paella or cargolade. A kids' club and a teens' club are held every afternoon in summer, alongside a programme of sports and other activities supervised by the qualified entertainment team. Family games, themed musical evenings, dances and shows are held in the evening. The site also has an outdoor heated pool, and a communal leisure room with TV, wifi access, a pool table, table football, board games and a library. Off site, rent bikes or electric bikes to access the greenway that passes just below the grounds: the strong of leg (and sturdy of bum) could even pedal all the way to the seaside or to Spain...

What customers say

This friendly, family-run campsite boasts welcoming staff and clean, well-equipped facilities. Guests rave about the quiet atmosphere and beautiful natural setting, with great hiking/cycling access and nearby water sports. Pitches are nicely sized and shaded, though some noted they're a bit snug for larger RVs. Washing machine costs and limited restaurant choices were minor downsides.

Liked Beautiful site. Friendly staff. Amenities clean and well maintained. BYO toilet paper‼️

Disliked Too little staff. Big pool overcrowed and noise levels were very high. Childrens pool closed. Noisy throughout the site. Especially the playground which went on beyond set times. Pizza was awful. Had to wait 40 mins and the food was disgusting. Bewarenif you are pulling a.heavy va or driving a heavy.van. steep hill accessmin and out.

Powered grass and gravel campsite

Liked The cleanliness of the facilities and the location. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. It felt safe and organised. Children were able to play freely. The pizzas were amazing!

Disliked There was no toilet roll, you had to take your own. There were no hand soap or facilities to dry your hands. Would have been good to have a little shop on site. The trampolines closed too early

Local attractions

There's loads of scenery to see without stirring too far from the site, via the local greenway for cycling and the GR 10 for hiking: ask the site team for details on the best routes as well as on accessing local fishing, horse riding and archery. Less actively, or after a long cycle or hike, have a spa or treatment at Amélie les Bains a few kilometres away. Arty town Céret, capital of the historic Catalan comarque of Vallespir, is 15 minutes' drive from the site. It's well worth a wander for culture connoisseurs, famed for its Musée d'Art Moderne with works by Picasso, Dalí and Matisse among others. Regular sardanes (communal dances) are held in town too: look for details of these on posters around the main streets. For food and shopping, the Céret market is on Saturdays (think wine, cheese and olives) and an arts and crafts market is on Tuesday evenings. Then have a Mediterranean beach day at Argelès-sur-Mer and its seven-kilometre length of sand, edged by the historical pine forest of the Bois des pins.
