- Brittany site with vineyard views 10 minutes’ drive from Lannion
- Pink Granite Coast 10 minutes’ drive and Ploumanac’h half an hour
- Large grass pitches in an apple orchard; crêperies 10 minutes’ drive
It is possible to see the best of Brittany and steer away from the crowds; just look at the quiet site tucked in by the vineyard and apple orchards at Clos du Verger. This peaceful spot is in the sleepy hamlet of Poulanco, 10 minutes’ drive from historic Lannion and within half an hour by car of beaches, castles and long-distance cycle rides.
The pitches are spacious enough to accommodate up to six guests; they all have electric hook-ups and are in a camping meadow with easy access off a dead-end lane – no traffic noise here. Simple facilities include a water tank and a compost toilet, but for everything else, you’ll have to fend for yourself – and definitely bring torches for getting around after dark.
Barbecues are allowed, but you’ll need to bring your own gear; you can pick up supplies in Lannion – there’s a good produce market every Thursday as well as supermarkets and grocery shops. If you’re not a fan of alfresco cooking, there are bistros and crêperies in the town’s cobbled streets too.
