What customers say

This peaceful, rural campsite gets praise for friendly hosts Mark & Kari and its tranquil vibe. Guests liked spacious pitches, clean basic facilities (hot showers!), farm animals, and proximity to cycling trails and Domfront. Minor points: fixed shower heads, early roosters.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Absolute gem of a place, very warm welcome by the owners Marc and the pony & goats. Plenty of space and was spoiled for choice of where to pitch caravan. Toilets and showers were spot on and very clean. We would definitely recommend to anyone who likes peace and tranquility to stay at this beautiful campsite.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Je mag zelf een mooie plek uitzoeken in schaduw of zon. Heel veel ruimte en rust!
Gezellige dieren als geiten en een pony die rondlopen op het terrein.
Heel geschikt voor dierenliefhebbers en rustzoekers

Liked Owners were friendly and helpful. Good facilities. And, best of all, a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural France.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked British couple who were friendly and welcoming.
Very much like a CL site but with extras which was right up my street. That's to say, no formal pitches but park anywhere in the big field....more or less.
Comprehensive facilities.
Good place to stay and cycle into the old town nearby.
Pony, goats and chickens loose in the field which I also liked

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Beautiful peaceful setting. Marc so helpful and friendly. Animals wandering but not intrusive. A lot of thought had gone into what cycling tourers might require.Choice of pitch on site. Pitches not marked out but as a lot of space for number of units no chance of crowding.

Liked Very friendly and helpful owners
Lovely quiet rural area
Quiet site, basic but good facilities
Domfront old town
Great cycling area with quiet lanes from the site and into Domfront, then Voie Verde ex railway trail from there

Disliked Nothing. Lack of own toilet emptying was a limitation but we were pitched near the block.

Local attractions

Anglers may be happy hanging out at the carp lakes waiting for a bite, but there’s lots of other stuff to do too. You provide the pedal power on the Vélorail at Bagnoles de l’Orne Normandie (15 minutes) as you trundle along a former railway line in Andaine Forest (10 minutes’ drive), or you can bike sections of the long-distance Véloscénie as it wends its way along greenways through Domfront (10 minutes) to the Normandy coast. The kids (most adults too, in fact) will probably adore getting up close to handsome heavy horses at La Michaudière - Ferme du Cheval de Trait (10 minutes). If the kids need to let off steam after touring the castle and museums in Mayenne (35 minutes), a kayaking session on the Varenne river from Torchamp (15 minutes) or hiring a pedalo on the lake at La Ferté-Macé (20 minutes) should do the trick. Have wander around the Wednesday-morning market at Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët (40 minutes) and pick up local cider, cheeses and fresh fruit for picnics, or make a day of it by visiting the abbey at Mont Saint-Michel (an hour and 15 minutes) in the Bay of Normandy.
