What customers say

Beautifully kept park with spacious, private sites. Guests rave about the clean facilities and friendly hosts. The on-site bar/restaurant gets high marks for food quality and value. Peaceful location for Normandy exploration, though some mention slight traffic noise and wish for more night lighting.

Liked Absolutely everything. Spacious flat pitches, idyllic quiet setting, superb, immaculate facilities. Perfect location to visit the area including the D-day beaches. Lovely welcoming hosts who we joined for a couple of drinks in the bar and the restaurant looks great too. We can appreciate the hard work and attention to detail that has been applied to ensure all guests have the best stay possible. Would recommend to all. Families, couples, solo travellers, dog owners. Very much hope to return again one day.

Liked Lovely site, enjoyed our stay here and used as a base for visiting places within an hour's drive.
Really friendly owners, great facilities including bar, pool table etc showers were good with ample hot water.
We would stay here again and would recommend to others.
Excellent WiFi.

Disliked There is some road noise from the nearby motorway and also early morning (5am) noise from near by industrial area but there was ongoing building work which is hopefully finished by the next season.

Liked Location - easy to find from A84.
Site - immaculately maintained grounds and all central areas and facilities, large pitches with hedges providing privacy, ours had electricity and water.
Signage in both English and French was cute and quirky.
Added extras of a free use kitchen area with microwave, fridge, utensils - we didn’t need this but great addition.
Use of laundry based on trust with an honesty box.
Friendly feel to the site, quiet and relaxing space.

Liked This is one of the best campsites we have stayed on. It’s close to the places of interest along the Normandy coast. Steve and Dawn work hard to make everyone’s stay an enjoyable one. The site is laid out in zones making it feel spacious. There is gravel walk/driveways down to the main facilities which were spotless. There is a bar with covered pergola where food is served, cooked by Dawn. There is an outdoor area where TV can be watched, laundry facilities and outdoor kitchen area for those who need it. Special thanks goes to Steves mum (maggie) who was welcoming and always ready for a chat and Katie who served our food.
It really was delightful. Everyone meet up in the evenings to chat about their day over excellent food and local drinks.
We cannot wait to book our next visit. Thank you Steve and Dawn x

Liked Everything.
Good sized pitches, separated by trees/bushes.
Lovely spacious showers with good water pressure.
Clean toilets
Dyson hand dryers
The setting for the bar/restaurant is lovely in a little courtyard. Food was good.
Small swing slide set, ping pong table, table football and darts.
Loads of open space for kids to run about. Excellent WiFi even at both pitches we stayed at (you don’t have to stay close to the main hub to get it).
We didn’t use them but I believe there are facilities like microwaves, shared fridge available.
Honestly can’t fault the place, we liked it so much we booked it again for our journey home. I wish all campsites were like this!

Disliked I can’t think of anything anyone would dislike.

Liked Loved the place and the hosts were amazing , welcoming and friendly . The Pitches were a good size and we were on a fully serviced pitch which was a great help to us . The Bar and restaurant / food was really good and very reasonably priced . The site is only an hours drive from the Port and is within easy reach of the DD landing Beaches , Cemeteries and memorials which have to been seen . The site is well kept and very clean with gardeners doing their rounds everyday. When you first arrive you will be greeted by Steve or Dawn ( The hosts) everything is explained to you on your own map where you will find the essential things , Chemical waste , Toilets.. Recycling bottle bank etc . You will also be given another map of the small town/Village showing what is there and when they will be open . There's also a small Market in the square on a Monday . Definitely a site to visit and i know we will be going back .

Zone E power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Beautiful campsite!! So peaceful. Showers and toilets are immaculate. Restaurant has lovely food and local cider and wine. We planned on staying 1 night as stopped to visit Mont Saint Michel (only an hour drive from site) planned to stay near Paris after but ended up not going to Paris and staying there for 3 nights. We got upgraded to a premium pitch for our last night which had the sun all day, and views overlooking empty fields. Owners and staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Will defo return next year!

Local attractions

Start with a visit to Saint-Martin-des-Besace’s Musée 44 La Percée du Bocage (a 10-minute walk), dedicated to the allies’ liberation of Normandy, then get a slow-paced feel for the region on horseback with a tour from one of the stables within 10 minutes’ drive. More high-octane pursuits beckon 15 minutes away at the partially demolished Viaduc de la Souleuvre, where catapulting off towering objects (with bungee-cord firmly attached) is encouraged, and at Parc Festyland themepark on the outskirts of Caen, 40 minutes from base. Caen is a top spot for an urban day or two, with abbeys, memorials, museums, châteaux, gardens and (of course) shops to traipse around – but those in need of scenic vistas might do better to turn their sights to the coast, where the spectacular famed Mont Saint-Michel towers above the sea. History buffs left wanting more after trips to the beaches of D-Day can dedicate a day to the town of Bayeux, where the 70-metre Bayeux tapestry is on display depicting the story of William the Conqueror, and the Baron Gérard art museum adds to the cultural experience. Within 15 minutes, those whose passions lie in the open air can spend days whizzing along ziplines and poking around treetops at Accrobranche Mayya, and budding zoologists can get their fix among the white lions, Siberian tigers and red cat-bears – that’s red pandas – at Zoo de Jurques.
