  • Peaceful Gironde park in a forest 10 minutes' drive from Vensac
  • Five minutes' drive to the nearest beach; wineries close by
  • Aquatic area, beauty salon and restaurant; kids'/teens' club in summer
Amid the green Gironde countryside and with the Atlantic coast only about five minutes' drive away, Camping Le Tastesoule is a fabulous spot for a family holiday in the fresh air. About halfway between the village of Vensac and the long stretch of sand at Plage Vensac, this is a friendly place run by Pascale and Jean-Jacques, who have made a real effort to get the place just right for a family break. The forest setting gives the site a sense of peace and nature (as well as plenty of shade to keep you cool in summer) and there are also plenty of things to keep everyone pleasantly occupied on site and close by. A highlight for many guests is the aquatic area, which has a main pool, a paddling pool and a water play area. Beyond this, there's a play area, a games room and a pétanque court, and various activities and games are organised for kids and teens in high season. Nearby, horse riding, archery, surf lessons, miniature golf and treetop adventures are on hand to fill your days – and of course, there’s always the excellent option of a day at the beach… For food supplies, you can stop by at the supermarket in Vensac (10 minutes’ drive) or pick up essentials at the site’s own grocery shop. Need a break from cooking? There’s a restaurant on site too, along with a bar for those all-important cool drinks at the end of the day. Meanwhile, if you’ve got a bit ruffled while you’re out and about, you can stop by at the beauty salon on site to spruce yourself up.

Local attractions

Lazing on the beach is a popular pastime at Plage Vensac (five minutes’ drive), but if you fancy a little more activity you can sign up for surf lessons in nearby Montalivet les Bains (10 minutes’ drive) or Soulac-sur-Mer (15 minutes). Also close by are the natural sea pools in Le Verdon-sur-Mer (20 minutes), a good option for family swims, or days when the waves are a bit high elsewhere. For other outdoor activities, have a go at archery at La Forêt de Robin Soulac, play a round at Mini-Golf des Vins - "Chez Grapouille”, or climb up into the trees at Parc de l’Aventure (all 10 minutes). And as you’re in the Médoc Regional Natural Park, there’s usually a walk or bike ride to be found somewhere nearby (and perhaps with a winery en route…) Vensac village (10 minutes) is home to a riding stables, the pretty Moulin de Vensac and the Les Z'animaux de Babou farm park, where kids can stroke and feed the animals.
