- Peaceful woodland chalets 20 minutes' walk from Château de Biron
- 45 minutes' drive from the vineyards around Bergerac
- Quiet site with swimming pool, playground and pétanque court
How will you spend your days while at Castelwood Vacances? Visiting châteaux, delving into the area’s prehistoric caves, imagining life in troglodyte dwellings, pottering around medieval towns such as Monpazier? Or maybe getting active with a hike, bike ride, horse riding, canoeing or a round of golf?
There's also a lot of fine food and fresh produce to try out in the area, plus local vineyards where you can sample bottles of Bergerac, Buzet, Thézac and Cahors.
Your peaceful place for a restful night’s kip among all that is in these cosy cabins in the woods, 20 minutes’ walk from Château de Biron. There's also a pool for cooling off, a playroom and playground for the nippers and space for a game of pétanque for all.
Plus of course plenty of room to put your feet up and raise a toast to the good life (with a glass of something local, bien sûr).

Route directions
From the north (Paris):
From Paris, follow the signposts for Bordeaux - A10. At Orleans, take the exit signposted A20 to Vierzon, Châteauroux, Limoges, Brive-la-Gaillarde. Continue and exit at Souillac.
Follow the signs for Sarlat-la-Canéda on the D703. At Carsac-Aillac, continue straight ahead to La Roque-Gageac (do not turn right in direction of Sarlat). Go right through La Roque-Gageac (still the D703) until Beynac-et-Cazenac.
Turn left towards St Cyprien and continue until Siorac-en-Périgord. At the roundabout turn left onto the D710, signposted Belvès.
After four kilometres, at Fongauffier, turn right, then go uphill following the directions for Monpazier. Cross the village of Belvès and continue in the direction of Monpazier. When you reach Monpazier, turn left at the T-junction and almost immediately go right towards Biron et Villeréal.
After approximately four kilometres turn left towards Château Biron. Drive round the bottom of the castle and follow the signposts for Lacapelle-Biron on the D53.
When descending the hill and after one kilometre, you will find the site entrance on the left.

Start with a visit to Château de Biron, which dates back to the 12th century and is best visited via a 20-minute walk through the countryside. Other châteaux worth a look include Bonaguil (25 minutes away), and Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, both within 50 minutes.
Dwellings of an entirely different nature can be explored at the troglodyte village in La Roque St Christophe or at the Grottes de Cougnac and their prehistoric paintings and natural rock formations. Both are around an hour away.
Gourmands will find much to feast on around these parts – head to the medieval bastide towns of Monpazier, Monflanquin and Villeréal to forage in the shops and markets, and spend hours/ days happily pottering around the vineyards and wineries around Thézac (35 minutes away), Bergerac (45 minutes) and Cahors (just over an hour).
