Did someone say beach? Whatever the time of day, it’s quite likely they did… because Tiny SeaSide - Loddenhøj is right by the sea in the village of Loddenhøj, about 20 minutes’ drive from Aabenraa, in south-eastern Denmark. Pitching your tent right by the beach is a dream for many campers – and this is a place where you can really bring that vision to life, waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the sea in the morning, swimming or strolling on the sand throughout the day, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night. Here you’ll be able to slow down and live life at your own pace for a while, spending time staring out to sea and lighting a barbecue for a seaside meal. Along the coast there are several places for fishing and paddleboarding, and you can explore the local area easily enough on foot or by hiring bikes from the site. A five-minute drive takes you to the boarding point for the ferry sailing to the peaceful island of Barsø, where you can walk a seven-kilometre loop. A golf course is also close by, as is the HighPark Sønderjylland adventure park (both 15 minutes’ drive). In terms of facilities, there’s little to distract you from the gorgeous surroundings, but all the essentials are in place – the site has a small shop, a wifi service, a washing-up area and bathrooms with toilets and showers. Fresh Danish 'rundstykker' (bread rolls) are also available to order.

Liked Freundliches Personal, saubere Sanitäranlage, Brötchen Service, erste Reihe schöner Blick aufs Meer

Disliked Kaum Möglichkeiten zum Gassi gehen wenn man mit Hund kommt. In zeiter Reihe sieht man nur die erste Reihe. Unendlich viele Wespen. Fahrrad fahren nur gut durchtrainiert da bis zur nächsten Ortschaft sehr weit. Es ist kein Platz im herkömmlichen Sinn sondern neben der Straße.

Liked The staff were kind and friendly

Disliked We weren't able to stay at the site we booked due to their over booking of that site. We ended up staying at their sister site which was extremely windy not their fault but it was so windy our tent was knocked over. We were really disappointed mainly because we weren't able to stay where we wanted. Definitely will not be going back.

Liked Camping très bien situé , si on aime la nature, le calme, le bord de mer et la luminosité des pays du Nord! On a même repris une nuit ! Personnel très sympathique. Sanitaires propres. Coin cuisine avec plaques chauffantes, bouilloire électrique et buanderie avec lave-linge. Recommandé +++

Liked Sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer ein offenes Ohr. Der Platz war optimal 😁. Der Blick auf die Ostsee war perfekt und das Wetter besser als vorher gesagt 😁👍
Alles in allem war es ein schöner Urlaub 😌

Disliked Das WLAN geht nur, wenn man einen Platz vorne hat. Leider kein Fahrradverleih und kein Restaurant wie in der Beschreibung angegeben. Und der kleine laden (auch Anmeldung) hat nicht alles was man braucht und ist relativ teuer. Die Duschen waren zum Schluss auch nicht mehr so gut,was wir aber den kurz Campern zu Lasten legen,weil wohl Sauberkeit nicht für alle wichtig zu sein ist.

Liked What a strange little site this is!
Mainly camping pods, but there is a handful of pitches for a tent, van or caravan. These pitches are not really on a site, it’s really just the side of the road, anyone can walk or drive past. That being said we did feel secure enough and it was lovely to be so close to the sea.
Staff were very laid back, friendly and helpful.

Local attractions

Sitting at the tip of a fjord, Aabenraa is a pretty town with a vast area of parkland centred around Brundlund Castle, a diminutive 15th-century construction that is now home to a collection of works by artists from Southern Jutland. Also in the grounds are a mill, ponds and play areas. Jump A Lot (25 minutes) is an indoor play centre with trampolines, inflatable structures and bowling lanes, plus a parkour area where you can practise your jumps, slides and rolls. There’s also an outdoor area with miniature golf and a playground, plus picnic tables from where you can keep an eye on the kids. Cross the border with Germany and head to Flensburg (45 minutes), where PHÄNOMENTA is a child-friendly science museum with hands-on exhibits. In the long harbour area, Flensburger Schifffahrtsmuseum displays maritime artefacts that illuminate the history of the town, and there are far-reaching views from the top of the Wasserturm Flensburg observation deck.
