Up for a Croatia seaside holiday that’s packed with variety? A stay at Camping Paklenica is one that puts you within easy reach of all sorts of ways to fill your days. For starters, this site is right by the pebbly beach in Starigrad, so you’ll be able to take dips whenever you feel like it. They’re likely to be particularly welcome after hikes in the Paklenica National Park, the entrance to which is five minutes’ drive away, or visiting the hiking trails and forests of the Velebit mountain range (an hour and 10 minutes away by car). Other options nearby include whitewater rafting on the Zrmanja River (half an hour) and strolls around the historic city of Zadar (45 minutes). Organised excursions can be arranged for all of the above. Or, of course, you could choose simply to take it easy… there’s plenty of lush Mediterranean greenery around on site for those times when you’d like to find a shady spot for a siesta, and a restaurant or a Dalmatian tavern to provide hassle-free meals and drinks (with lots more eating options a few minutes’ walk away in the town centre, and barbecues on site for those who’d like to get the grill going). Leisure facilities are in good supply here too – the site has an outdoor pool, a play area and a kids’ club where the nippers can join in with fun activities while parents grab some ‘me-time’ elsewhere. Come the evening, there’s often entertainment laid on with the whole family in mind. A toilet/shower block, grocery shop, wifi, recycling facilities, cycle hire and a dog park complete the picture.

Local attractions

If you’re not sure where to start with exploring the area, the first place to start is at the site’s reception, where they have links with a travel agency that can help organise tours and trips to some of the area’s top sights (particularly handy if you don’t have your own transport or would like to hike with some guidance). Exploring on your own is certainly possible, though – there are lots of trails to follow in the Paklenica National Park (five minutes’ drive to the nearest entrance), and you can either climb to the Pariževačka glavica viewpoint (20 minutes) or head underground to the Manita peć cave (10 minutes). For an exciting way to see some of the scenery, there’s a whitewater rafting centre half an hour away on the Zrmanja River. Zadar (45 minutes) is well worth a day out, too – you can take a wander around its Roman Forum, visit the cathedral and archaeology museum and experience the unusual art installations Sea Organ (which creates natural music through underwater pipes) and Greeting to the Sun (a solar installation best viewed after dark).

Liked Sanitariaty myte na bieżąco, jeden węzeł sanitarny dostępny, jednak kolejek nie było. Czysto. Duże parcele. Sklepy, restauracje blisko. Dostępny basen. Prysznic dla psów. Psy mogą przebywać na plaży, ale bez kąpieli. Cisza nocna przestrzegana. Można wybrać parcele.

Disliked Ciężko wbija się śledzie. Uwaga na żywicę z drzew.

Liked Könnyen megközelíthető kemping, nagyon szép helyen fekszik. Családias, nem zsúfolt, csöndes hely. Sehol nem találkoztunk még ennyire udvarias, kedves, segítőkész recepciósokkal. Tiszta, szép vizesblokk, amit minden nap igényesen takarítottak. Pár percre egy Tommy, ahol mindent lehet kapni, folyamatosan töltötték, sosem volt hiány semmiben. Pár perc sétával megközelíthető két nagyon jó étterem, finom ételekkel és kedves, vicces kiszolgálással. A strandon és a medencéknél is volt bár. A tenger szép, tiszta, lassan mélyülő. A parton mindenki talál magának helyet. Összességében nagyon jó kemping, biztos, hogy visszatérünk még.

Liked Dicht bij het strand, voor een tent een ruime plek, water dichtbij , stroom goed geregeld. Keurige toiletten en worden zeer goed schoon gehouden!

Disliked Plekken dicht op elkaar daardoor “weinig” privacy. Enkele douchekoppen kapot.
