  • Family-run site with 11 acres of space in rural Pembrokeshire
  • A 10-minute walk to a wake park; 25 minutes to Oakwood Theme Park
  • Play area, games room and honesty shop on site; dog-friendly too
Wakeboarding, rollercoasters, sandy beaches, go-karting, woodland walks… the list of possible activities surrounding Oakfields Holiday Accommodation goes on and on. The family-run Pembrokeshire site has an excellently central spot 15 minutes’ drive away from Saundersfoot beach and 20 minutes from Tenby. Touching up on your surfing skills might be on the agenda… and wakeboarding too, as the Wild Lakes Wales site is only 10 minutes’ walk away from the site. It has a wakeboarding park, a bouldering wall and an aqua park. Kids have got a lot to babble about to their friends when they return home. Oakwood Theme Park is a 25-minute walk away, with its rollercoasters and rides. The facilities on site are well-suited to children too, as they include a games room equipped with a pool table, table football and ping pong table, and a play area and a games pitch. This is a spot for all sorts, though, families, groups, solo travellers and couples alike. There’s a laidback feel, so sitting back and enjoying the view is just as acceptable as roaming the 11 acres. In the way of practicalities, an honesty shop with a shared freezer is on-hand, along with a washing-up area, a chemical disposal point, a water point and a toilet and shower block with three toilets and two showers. Dog owners can stroll with their buddies to Canaston Wood, 35 minutes’ walk away (well-behaved dogs are welcome on the site). A pub is also only 10 minutes’ walk away from the site.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked This has been one of the best campsites we have stayed on. Very family friendly and the pitches are really big. Although the park and play field were a stones throw away, the mowed out areas of the pitches made them feel private and secluded. The park and playing field were great, right in the middle so children could play and still be supervised. It was lovely listening to everyone out having a good time of an evening and the children all playing together. The site owners were really friendly and accommodating, ensuring everyone was happy and they were always about if you needed anything.

The games room was a nice little addition to the campsite. A pool table, football table, table tennis and a room with toys for smaller children. Lovely little area for the evening and rainy days.

The little shop was a bonus for things we had run out of or had forgotten to pack.

The farm animals were a massive hit with our son, they were the highlight of his camping trip and he loved having the opportunity to feed them and collect his own egg!

The facilities were clean and although there were only a couple of toilets and showers, we never had to queue to use them.

We took a very short walk through the field to the Wild Lakes to watch people wakeboarding and on the inflatable aqua park. Unfortunately our son was too small to participate in the activities but he had fun watching others. The food at the lake smelled and looked amazing but unfortunately we didn't get chance to try it. There was also a pub next door which also looked really good but we didn't get chance to visit here either.

Overall this campsite is fantastic! We will definitely be looking to book again next year!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Great up coming site, had a lovely welcome.
Kids loved the game area, football field and farm animals. Great size pitches and level.

Disliked No hot water to wash dishes, no hot water on wash basins in shower area which also needs attention with more showers needed maybe a bigger shower block and more toilets needed I'm 100% sure it will all be resolved by next season.
I hope it does because we would like to go
Back next year.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Nice individual pitches and good space between pitches.
Good play area for children in the middle of the camping field.
Within walking distance of the local pub the snooty fox
Handy honesty shop on site for essential groceries.

Disliked The toilet and shower area was a little busy sometimes owing to the layout and the way the facilities are provided.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked One of the best campsites we have stayed at. Kids and parents loved everything about. Great games room and honesty shop. Kids especially loved the farm animals and cats.

Park and football field both great.

Layout of the site is great, loads of space that feels like your own area.

Toilets and showers both great.

Local area is amazing. Barafundle Bay and Tenby both being highlights but there’s so much to do and see.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The park was brilliant for the children and us! The site was small and family run and the pitches were really well spaced out. Everyone had their own little patch and was apart from everyone else.
The facilities were clean and tidy and the honesty shop and games room were great additions. The children enjoyed playing and meeting other children in the little play park.
The children really enjoyed going with the owner and feeding the animals. They have alpacas, pigs, goats, ducks and a horse around the camping area. The owner was friendly , chatty and helpful.
There is a cut through footpath across the fields and through the woods from the campsite which brings you out at the road opposite wild lakes and just up from the snooty fox pub, this means that you don’t have to walk with the children on the busy road to access those places, this is a great idea as it’s a busy road with no footpath.
We did wild lakes climbing wall and are there at the tipi, both highly recommended. We also had dinner at the snooty fox which was lovely.
We really enjoyed the campsite and will definitely be back!
