The view from our tent

  • Peaceful pitches on a wooded field just outside Felindre
  • A 10-minute drive from Newcastle Emlyn; half an hour from the coast
  • Dog-friendly site; walk to the village pub and chip shop in 10 minutes
Pantybarcud is a peaceful site on a partly wooded field in the Carmarthenshire countryside 10 minutes’ walk from Felindre (a small village but big enough to be home to a pub, shop and fish and chip shop). There’s plenty of breathing room here on the well-spaced pitches, and as cars are parked in a separate area you won’t have to worry about any late-night traffic movements. In the main, everything’s been left quite natural but guests will have access to facilities including a covered cooking area and a barbecue/firepit area with seating. Compost toilets are down at the pitches, and there’s a shower a short walk away up at the main house (which also has a washing machine, wifi connection and recharging points that guests can use). There are lots of great places to get out for a walk around here – either inland (around the castle in Newcastle Emlyn, 10 minutes’ drive away, is a popular pick) or along the Wales Coast Path, just under half an hour away. Got a dog looking hopeful at the prospect of all this walking? Good news – they’re welcome to come along and join the holiday here.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Jolly good; nice and peaceful in wooded surroundings. Perfect for me; a one night stop in an almost timeless hideaway.
I could access a pitch with my motorcycle having acquired my fish & chips (the best ever!) and happily munched supper followed by a satisfactory sleep. Thank you Kit.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked So beautiful and peaceful.
The owners were incredibly helpful.
Short walk to pub.
Great off -grid venue.
Fires allowed and plenty of deadwood provided.
I wasn't in a tent but the tent pitches looked really beautiful, secluded and full of character.

Disliked The campervan field was pretty sloping but the perimeter was level

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked The campsite was very peaceful and had a very welcoming host who showed us around. There was plenty of wooded space between pitches that gave everyone privacy, there was also a communal outdoor kitchen and firepit area.

We made good use of the free firewood to enjoy a late evening campfire under the stars, the eco toilets were clean and had more than enough toilet paper and sawdust.

Would happily go again :)

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Fab little hidden gem of a campsite! Caroline and Kit (and Spock) were really friendly and helpful, our dog thoroughly enjoyed running around with Spock (their young spaniel). Small and intimate, vans will benefit from chocs. Good simple amenities (compost toilets and a hot shower), everything you need with the village a short walk away. Recommend the fish and chip shop.
