  • Small glampsite with spectacular Afan Valley views in South Glamorgan
  • Afan Forest Park 15 minutes' drive; Gower Peninsula 40 minutes
  • Heated pods with barbecues and firepits; shared showers and kitchen
Want to be close to all the South Glamorgan sporting and cultural action yet come back to a quiet haven in the evening? Base yourselves in the cute glamping units at Fedwen Pods, set on a 12-acre smallholding on the edge of Cwmavon village and offering superb views over the Afan Valley. Each pod contains a built-in double and adult-sized bunk beds, plus storage space and chairs with a compact folding table. A cubicle has a camping cassette toilet for night-time convenience. Outside space comprises a picnic table for each pod and glorious views over hilltops to Swansea Bay, as well as plenty of green space behind the pods where you can enjoy total peace and quiet. Firepits and barbecues are provided for your use, with logs and charcoal available to buy on site. There are communal showers (one is wheelchair accessible) and loos in a separate building, and a kitchen with a shared microwave and hob plus a designated cupboard and fridge for each pod. Two added bonuses are the comfortable dining/seating area for chilling or keeping warm on chillier days, and the patio where you can put your feet up and soak up the view. Keen cyclists will be pleased to hear that bike-washing and secure storage facilities are available too – handy indeed, given that the excellent trails and bike park of Afan Forest are only five miles away.

Camping pod

Liked We had a wonderful stay at the Pods. They are spacious enough for a family, surrounded by beautiful nature and stunning views. It was so lovely to enjoy meals at the table near our pod while watching horses running in the neighbouring field.

All the facilities were very clean, and the owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We even received fresh eggs from the farm (under £2 for 6 eggs), which made for a delicious breakfast!

The road leading there is a little tricky, but as long as you take it slowly, it’s absolutely fine. Directions and navigation were very clear. The beach and shops are only a short 10–15 minute drive away, and the Four Waterfalls are just about 40 minutes away by car. We tried walking to the village, but on the way back we called an Uber since we had a child with us and the walk back is uphill.

We would definitely love to return and enjoy this peaceful place again. Thank you so much, Anne Marie and Keith, for your wonderful hospitality!

P.S: Sorry, I couldn’t resist and ate some the blackberries too, they were amazing.

Camping pod

Liked My partner and I had a wonderful stay. Our host Ann-Marie was most hospitable, a lovely lady.

It was great to get back to nature especially after spending the last month in the UAE.

The place is very clean and has everything we needed.

Very happy 😊

Camping pod

Liked The pods are in a beautiful and scenic location, they are well fitted and very clean. The shared facilities (kitchen, showers, toilets and dining room) were well equipped and perfectly clean. Driving directions and arrival instructions were clear and I was met on arrival and shown round.
I stayed with my kids (10 and 13) and we all loved it, only stayed for one night but wish it was longer.

Camping pod

Liked Beautiful setting. Really comfortable beds. Really clean. Well appointed communal kitchen

Disliked The only small criticism would be that the bathroom in the pod took up a lot of space and we could have just used the toilet in the toilet block. A sink would have been more useful, and some more space. I’m sure it was useful for younger kids, but we used to bring our own potty for them!
