Dan y Dderwen 1 bedroom lodge
Liked: We had a spectacular stay. The abode has all the basic essentials required but without the scarcity. There are supermarkets such as Tesco, co-op, Aldi all within 10 mins drive. It’s fantastic for inexperienced campers to get a feeling of what to be expected sleeping in the outdoors but access to comfort.
Do come prepared with all seasons clothing as tent can cool down in the nights and early morning, there is a wood fire burner there it’s quite narrow so does need regular wood. You can buy a 25kg bag for £7.
The hot tub is essentially a xxl bath with seats. This required at-least a 25kg bag of woods to get going, but once it’s warmed up it can get pretty hot and will last the day into the evening. You may get away with purchasing logs externally for this but their bags are better value for money so highly recommend.
There’s a small fridge which will fit your essentials with top layer designed for freezing. There’s a toaster and double gas hob with plenty of pans, and pots to get cooking.
I loved this stay so much, I didn’t think this beauty existed so close to home without needing a drive to the airport and beyond.
The hits are very thoughtfully laid out, with vast space and hidden away from each other so you get the feeling of being isolated and having the green all to yourself. Just a small pointed that this is located so close to a town that you do get the sound of hospital helicopter from time to time, the odd loud car in the distance (Saturday night) but for the most part it’s idyllic.
Don’t think twice just do it. But take all weather clothes to be safe. British weather after all 🤞🏽
Disliked: Maybe just my like the tractor went of in the neck few fields most of the morning then at night the helicopter was doing its rounds for about 2 hours. Doubt it’s an everyday occurrence though.
