  • Quiet coastal campsite on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula
  • A 10-minute drive from Abersoch; Pwllheli 20 minutes
  • Views over Cardigan Bay and direct access to the Wales Coast Path
For a low-key coastal site on the Llŷn Peninsula with spectacular views over Cardigan Bay, have a look at Cim Farm Caravan Park. There's direct access to the Wales Coast Path here, making this spot a top stop-over site for walkers and backpackers, plus a circular walk on the farm for those who are settling down for longer spells. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead to avoid spooking the sheep and cows that live in the neighbouring fields. The farm is on the edge of the village of Bwlchtocyn and about a mile from a café and sandy Machroes beach. A short distance further along the coast is Abersoch (10 minutes' drive), where there's a golf club, surf shops, a sailing school and a supermarket. Facilities on site include well-maintained toilets, hot showers (handy to have after dips in the sea), a playground, a laundry room and a freezer for ice packs. This site is high up and open to the elements, meaning it has fantastic views over to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park and makes a great place to fly a kite. After 10pm, it's quiet time, and all music must be paused.

Liked: Loved everything… Cim farm has incredible views, beautiful walks, good sized pitches, a clean and well maintained toilet/washing/ laundry block and is very well maintained throughout. We were made to feel so welcome when we arrived and Dawn gave us great info on the local area and beaches. We had such a fabulous time here we will definitely be back. I highly recommend Cim farm to anyone looking to stay near Abersoch… it was perfect x

Liked: Excellent site. Owners are lovely. Well kept and mown grass areas, washing facilities are good and showers are nice and warm! Our hardstanding pitch was level and the tent pegs went in easy enough!

Was our second stay on site and we will certainly be back!

Liked: Excellent site with stunning views. Immaculate site and the staff were great. You can walk to Abersoch but there is a steep hill on the way back which could be difficult for some. The walks around the area are really nice.

Liked: Very warm welcome on arrival, we were guided to our pitch which was huge and had a lovely sea view. The site is well kept, tidy and clean. Toilet block was spotless and showers were nice and hot.
Lovely 15 minute walk to Porth Ceiriad beach through the fields.
Also the Free WiFi is a brilliant provision as many sites would charge for this
Neighbouring site has a shop for ‘essentials’

Local attractions

In the immediate surrounding area, there's Abersoch Golf Club (10 minutes' drive) if you fancy a game or two with sea views, plus top-rated local beaches for swimming, watersports and picnics like Porth Ceiriad (10 minutes) and Porth Neigwl (10 minutes), the second of which is renowned for its favourable surfing conditions. Many of these can be comfortably reached on foot via the Wales Coast Path. A little further along the peninsula, you'll come to Pwllheli, a harbour town with an attractive marina that's well worth a visit. Heading in the other direction, Criccieth Castle (30 minutes) has turrets and towers that are hard to beat – although Harlech's imposing coastal fortress (an hour) certainly gives it a run for its money. For more family-friendly days out, head to the pretty Italian-style coloured houses and cafés at Portmeirion (30 minutes), or venture out into Snowdonia National Park for mountain peaks, lakeside walks or to experience the zipwires, woodland rollercoasters and other exhilarating rides at Zip World Fforest near Betws-y-Coed (an hour and 15 minutes).
