What customers say

This quiet campsite boasts lovely estuary views and great access to the Dyfi Valley. Campers liked the well-stocked porta-potty and private beach access. However, it can be muddy & hilly, with access road concerns for larger vehicles and limited on-site staff.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Great setting, mega views , close to beach/bars etc

Disliked Could do with more than 1 portaloo/‘thunder box’….. maybe 1 for each sex but then again I imagine that’s challenging nowadays for those who identify as squirrels!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Location

Disliked The toilets were almost blocked, which really affected our stay. We had booked this wild campsite for 3 nights but ended up leaving after just 2. I understand the idea of “wild camping” at a low price, but the place really needs more and better toilets. Since there’s a stream nearby, the owner could easily improve the facilities by setting up proper toilets with running water.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked This was our first time camping & we really enjoyed it. Lovely location.
We had packed lightly(ish) thinking we had to park up and walk to wherever we wanted to pitch as thats what it said in the description, but youre actually allowed to park up next to your tent - which was handy!
There was one portaloo, which was reasonably clean!
There was alot of people, but it is bank holiday weekend! But theres so much space , no one was too close together. It was lovely. Would definitely recommend and would come again.

From the manager: Hello thank you for for such a nice review, we will be getting another portaloo amongst other improvements and upgrades to the site. Please do come back again, many thanks for staying with us.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Perfect location, brilliant for first time campers and more experienced. A small walk to a beautiful pebble beach. Bbq and fire friendly. It was the perfect get away.

Disliked Wouldn’t say anything apart from the road from the main to the camping field - although was super happy to find we was able to park next to our camp spot.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Easy booking, plenty of space and a clean porta loo. Not much else to say. A proper wild camping experience and everything as described. The views on the estuary were nice. We have a LWB VW Crafter and no issues getting up the hill and we did manage to find a fairly level pitch.

From the manager: Thank you for such a lovely comment hopefully you’ll come back again!

Local attractions

As well as being close to the coast, this site is also in the southern part of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, so there are plenty of active options around on land and water. You could start with the five-minute walk to a secluded estuary beach, or head to Aberdovey (five minutes’ drive) for a beach, a golf course and activities including watersports and crabbing. Elsewhere along the coast, you could head to Tywyn (15 minutes) for another beach and a ride on the Talyllyn Railway, head round to the dunes of Ynyslas National Nature Reserve (40 minutes) or find a section of the Wales Coast Path for a walk. Inland brings a whole heap more options, including thrilling downhill trails at Dyfi Bike Park (15 minutes), the chance to see big birds at the Dyfi Osprey Project (25 minutes) and some lovely shopping at Corris Craft Centre (25 minutes). There are plenty of great walks around too, including a particularly lovely circular trail around Dolgoch Falls (25 minutes).
