  • Family-friendly glamping on an animal park in Flintshire, North Wales
  • Chester Zoo 15 minutes’ drive and Llandudno 50 minutes
  • Furnished bell tents; wildlife encounters and kids’ activities on site
It’s time to get down with the animals – load the family into the car and head for Flintshire in North Wales. Here you’ll find spacious bell tents at Acres of Glamping, a leafy site set on Greenacres Animal Park at Mancot in Deeside. The tents are set up with cosy carpeting and rugs covering the floor to keep you all warm, and they are handily kitted out with bedside tables, blankets and electric points as well as central lamps and fairy lights. Comfy beds, linens and throws are also provided, as well as bean bags and cushions. Every tent has a mini cooking corner with utensils and crockery, teas and coffees and a plastic butt for easy water transportation. Also included is the first basket of logs for the private-use firepits outside, and each tent has its own private parking spot and fenced-off garden with a compact decked area. Basic (Silver) entry to the animal park is included in your stay, but if you want to upgrade to the Gold package when you arrive at reception, this will also mean taking a tractor ride to see Highland cattle and other animals, as well as the chance to see smaller animals up close in the park's meet and greet area. In the animal park, there is also a soft play centre. Larger animal encounters are also available for an additional fee and include lemurs, capybara, hybrid wolves and alpacas among others.

Bell tent

Liked Lovely peaceful camp site located on an animal park. Loved being surrounded by animals and hearing them at night and in the morning. Wolves were howling, birds were singing - felt like you were somewhere abroad.

We stayed in the Meerkat bell tent which had everything we needed in there - lots of lovely soft blankets, clean cutlery and cooking utensils and logs for the fire pit.

Small cooler in the room but if staying when it’s hot get some ice from Asda or coop (only a short drive away).

Loved the log burner and little sitting area, was great for watching the stars.
Bathroom was a shot walk away and you get to go past the goats and llamas on the way.

Site had friendly and helpful staff who answered all my questions and gave great recommendations. They added lovely touches like birthday balloons and napkins upon arrival and helped later in the evening when we had an issue with the padlock.

Disliked The mattress was a bit too firm for me

Good size pitch

Bell tent

Liked Our glamping bell tent was great, the park was very well kept and always tidy and the facilities were very clean.
The animal park was great, and the tractor ride and the meet and greet come highly recommended.
The staff were very knowledgeable and were always happy to have a conversation and to include our daughter.
We really enjoyed all the noise from the animals at dusk and especially listening to the wolves howling while sat around out little fire pit having quiet drink.
We will be recommending this site to all our family and friends who have young children, and we hope to back in the near future.

Thanks to all the staff for giving us a great little family trip.

Bell tent

Liked - Very well set up bell tent, was warm and had fly screen for the door if wanted
- Plenty of cups/plates/bbq tools, plus a fridge
- Electricity! Plenty of places to charge
- Great selection of tea/coffee
- Being able to hear the wolves howling and exotic bird calls
- The animal park in general is great for kids, lots to see and do inc bottle feeding baby goats
- Playground for kids and a safe site for them to run around and play
- BBQ/fire pit was brilliant, and seating around it for the evening
- Nearby large ASDA, and Deliveroo could bring food to the site too
- Only 2 glamping tents, well spaced so easy to have privacy. A few other caravans on the site but well enough away that still felt private
- Facilities to wash up
