Highly recommended campsite with beautiful, peaceful setting & clean facilities. Spacious, private pitches. Friendly staff, fun games barn, great location for exploring. Minor updates needed in some areas, occasional shower temp/toilet distance issues. Overall, overwhelmingly positive with many repeat visitors.

All-season powered grass campsite

Liked Excellent location. Close to Elgin, Lossiemouth and Forres. The toilets were clean. The bleating of sheep and goats might bother some people, but we enjoyed it. It's a farm, after all.

Disliked A little more attention to the technical condition. The hairdryer in the unisex bathroom had damaged insulation. The curtain rails were stuck together with tape. The pitch numbers could be visible from the road.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your thoughtful review!
We’re glad you enjoyed the location, the clean facilities, and the farm atmosphere, it really is part of the charm here.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding the hairdryer, curtain rails, and pitch numbers. After a busy summer, there are always a few areas that need some attention, and your comments are very helpful as we work on improvements.

Camping pod (family)

Liked The kitchen and all the facilities in the kitchen. The shower and toilets were very clean.

Disliked The absence of the owner of the campsite. It was very unpersonal with the key in a mailbox.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback — we’re really glad you enjoyed the kitchen facilities as well as the clean showers and toilets.

We’re sorry we couldn’t offer a personal welcome on arrival. As a working farm and family-run site, we’re not able to be in the office around the clock, so we use self check-in to allow guests the flexibility to arrive anytime up until 10pm. Most guests appreciate this system, but we understand it can feel less personal, and we’ll always try to say hello during your stay whenever possible.

Liked Great wee hideaway and location. Facilities are good with showers etc
Bothy had cleaning materials which is great as you don’t get that in a lot of other places.

Disliked Needs updating but nothing negative

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review — we’re so pleased you enjoyed the peaceful location, facilities and little touches like the cleaning materials in the bothy!

We’re always looking at ways to update and improve the site, and we know some areas could do with a wee refresh, so we really appreciate your comments. We’re glad it didn’t take away from your stay, and we’d love to welcome you back again soon!

Camping pod (family)

Liked Great site on a working farm. Clean and well presented. Excellent communal facilities.

Disliked The sticky feel of the wipe clean mattress (although I fully understand the reasons)

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind words — we’re so pleased you enjoyed the site, facilities and the farm setting!
The wipe-clean mattresses are thoroughly cleaned and dried between each stay, but when the air humidity is higher they can sometimes feel a little tackier to the touch. We’re sorry if that was the case during your visit. We’d love to welcome you back again soon!

All-season primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Location

Disliked Having to pay to use a fire pit that was not as safe as our own.
Extras did add up a bit, so watch that on booking.
Showers not great.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for sharing your feedback.
We’re sorry to hear a few things weren’t quite to your liking during your stay. Most guests tell us they enjoy the facilities and showers, so we’re sorry they didn’t quite meet your expectations this time. Extras are all listed at the time of booking, but we appreciate your thoughts on this. We’re really glad you enjoyed the location, and we hope you enjoyed visiting our corner of beautiful Moray!

Lovely site if your looking for a base or just to relax.

Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Very quite and peaceful. Toilets and showers very clean. Has a barn with games and a sofa area if you want to just sit an relax.

Disliked Would benefit greatly if there was a play park for the kids.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We’re so pleased you enjoyed the peaceful setting, clean facilities, and the Nissan Hut games room, and it’s great to hear you loved meeting the animals too :)

We do have a children’s play park on site just on the other side of the office building, which it sounds like you may not have spotted this time. Hopefully on your next visit the kids can enjoy it as well!

All-season powered grass campsite

Liked Toilet blocks were clean and tidy and there was a smll kitchen as well. There was also a lounge area / games room .

Disliked As this was a working farm dog walking was quite limeted for dogs that need a lot of excercise but Roseisle woodland /beach walk was only a short drive away

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review :)
We’re glad you enjoyed our facilities on site. While off-lead walking isn’t possible here as we’re a working farm with livestock, we do provide guests bringing canine companions with a dog pack with local walks and places to visit, and a map of our on-lead farm walk. And of course, Roseisle wood and beach are just a short drive away for a good run. We hope to see you and your four-legged friend again soon!

Local attractions

Stage your own mock battles at Culloden; the battlefield and a modern visitor centre are half an hour’s drive away. History buffs will also find plenty of castles and moody standing stones to clamber around. Moray’s mild climate and low average rainfall mean there’s a good chance of making the most of the fabulous golf courses, sailing, sandy beaches, forest trails and awesome mountains – you can even take to the slopes during the ski season. Amber nectar aficionados will also be interested in making the rounds of the renowned whisky distilleries nearby: everyone’s heard of Glenmorangie, Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, all easily doable from the site, but with half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries located in the Speyside area of Moray, there’s no shortage of options, including two beauties close by in Forres. If you don't know where to start, or want to get a comprehensive overview, hit the Malt Whisky Trail for a planned route around producers large and small.
