What customers say

Impeccably clean & peaceful site with friendly staff, great facilities (games room, spacious pitches). Loved the dog field with river. Convenient Dumfries location. Some request more restrooms during peak times. Showers in games room felt awkward. Highly recommended!

Liked Lovely clean maintained site. Only 15 pitches so very quiet and friendly. Showers in the shower rooms are very spacious with a toilet and washing basin in each room making it feel as if you were in your own bathroom at home. Warden often driving around the site giving a friendly wave or a wee chat. A half hour walk into Aldi and not much further to a retail park.

Disliked Only one shower room beside the pitches but there are another two equally as nice a short walk to the wardens office. We did have to make the wardens aware one day that the bins in the shower rooms and toilet in the games room were full to overflowing, there was no hand-wash in the toilet and the blue roll for drying hands had ran out. We therefore assumed that no cleaning had been done for maybe three days.

Liked Quiet location.
Wifi included.
Kids liked the pool and football tables.

Disliked One toilet and one shower. Not sufficient for number of guest.
The alternative (2 other toilets at front reception) is too far walking, hence no one uses them. Create more toilets om campsite.

Liked Toilets and whole site were immaculate, owner was really lovely, helpful and warm and welcoming, gorgeous little slow flowing river a two minute walk away, disabled friendly too.. we booked a week too early by accident and the owner was amazing about swapping the dates for me on the same day we were supposed to arrive, he was so understanding and immediately said not to worry there was space for us for the week following, will absolutely be booking again, also the games room with snooker, microwave, hot water, coffee, tea and sugar were a massive bonus, also the owner was really proud of his cleaning staff aswell and couldnt compliment there work enough even though they were on holiday, he seemed really grateful to have such good staff

Liked Immaculately clean and well kept. Games room, though I didn't use, is a very nice touch. Shower/toilet facilities...immaculate.
Very peaceful pitch, great for town..outlying towns/villages. Staff went out and beyond to help. Wonderful.

Local attractions

Dumfries (10 minutes’ drive) was the birthplace of Robbie Burns in 1759; see displays on the life of Scotland’s favourite poet, as well as portraits and period rooms, at the Robert Burns House, or read more about his life and times at the Robert Burns Centre, an 18th-century watermill sitting on the banks of the River Nith. There’s more on his backstory at Robert Burns Ellisland Farm (five minutes), a sprawling homestead where he once farmed. Spectacular Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens (20 minutes) makes a great day out too, with its stellar art collection and woodland walks. For more Scottish heritage, stop by the moated remains of medieval Caerlaverock Castle (25 minutes), or have a nose around the impressive cloisters of 13th-century Sweetheart Abbey (20 minutes) in New Abbey. If you prefer to do your exploring on foot, amble up to the 60-foot waterfall in Grey Mare’s Tail Nature Reserve (50 minutes), or pack a picnic and hike to Loch Trool and Bruce’s Stone – commemorating Robert the Bruce’s victory over the English in 1307 – in Galloway Forest Park (half an hour).
