Bell tent

Liked The overall vibes and ethos of the campsites is to be commended and it’s also very friendly and welcoming. The campsite is a very short walk from the town of Miltown Malbay and Lynches/ Friels has music every night of the week…great spot to go for a drink before bed.

Disliked The campsite is quite soggy and was very wet underfoot after little rain. We stayed in the bell tent which was spacious. It is a rubbish free campsite so we had to bring all rubbish with us and you couldn’t use toilet paper in the toilet , which was hard to get used to.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked LIKE THE IDEA OF THE CAMPING SITE, ETHOS ETC.

Disliked THE SITE WAS UNTIDY AND WHICH I FELT DID NOT PROMOTE THE ECO CAMPING MODEL.

THE FACILITIES WERE LIMITED FOR THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THE SITE. SHOWER PLUG HOLES COULD DO WITH A CLEAN.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The quirkiness of the site.
There are 2 toilets, a hot shower and sink for washing dishes etc. There is a tent with some games for kids. Giant connect 4 and beanbags with target.
Ducks and chickens wonder around carefree as does a little kitten - all very cute!
Few mins walk into miltown malbay with shops, pubs and restaurants and only 3km to Spanish point beach.

Disliked We booked a larger pitch however on arrival we didn't really have a choice ehere to pitch as it was busy, which was fine for us but had I known I wouldn't have paid extra for it. I think it's first come first served for pitches so arrive early if you're choosy.

Primitive grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The campsite was lovely with lots of animals running around. We bought fresh eggs and lettuce that were delicious. Such a chilled out vibe in this campsite. Will definitely be returning. The facilities were perfect for what we needed.

Primitive grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Very warm welcome by the staff who worked there. We had 3 pitches booked and they allocated the pitches so we were all together which was really sound.

Beautiful little campsite that’s rough and ready but adds to the charm. There were hens scratching about and ducks in a pen. There was compost toilets and regular ones too. Basic enough facilities but clean and hot water for a shower.

We had a barbecue the two days we were there and the staff were chilled about it. We bought some fresh eggs and organic salad leaves which were delicious.
We walked into the village and went for a few pints which was so handy, great location.

Disliked I liked everything about the campsite and would go back again. A minor issue was the ground on my pitch became soft due to heavy rain, it got a bit muddy in an and out of the van and I nearly got the van stuck leaving the pitch. I locked the differential and luckily was able pull myself out. The other pitches that my friends were staying at were grand.

Local attractions

This stretch of the Clare coast really does hit the ball out of the proverbial park. As it's the closest beach, you'll most likely want to kick things off at Spanish Point (five minutes' drive), a peaceful stretch of sand named after Armada ships that were shipwrecked nearby in 1588. There's also a beachfront golf club here (also five minutes), a nifty nine-holer with ace sea views. Onwards next to further-flung spots like White Strand beach (25 minutes), the Loop Head Peninsula (30 minutes) and the Cliffs of Moher (30 minutes), each and every one of which is full of natural loveliness. The latter spot is particularly impressive and one of the most visited locales in all of Ireland – with eight kilometres of dramatic coastal vistas, 20 species of nesting birds and UNESCO Global Geopark status, there's certainly a lot to reel fresh air-loving travellers in. An afternoon trip to Willie Daly's Donkey Farm (20 minutes) should go down a treat with the children, although it's also worth knowing that there are some small farm animals to be seen around Eco Camping Glamping. The Aillwee Caves (50 minutes) are also likely to capture kids' imaginations.
