What customers say
This basic campsite has a great location with stunning sea views & tranquility, a short walk from Porlock Weir. Guests loved the friendly owner, peaceful vibe & excellent value. Simple facilities (compost toilet, water tap) were adequate for most, though some noted sloping sites & occasional toilet upkeep issues. Ideal for hikers & wild camping fans.

Amazing views. Perfect for me, my dog and van.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Peaceful, great views.
The site was very basic - but that is what I wanted. Just a loo and a cold water stand pipe.
The site was a 5 minute walk from Porlock Weir, which has a couple of cafes, a smart hotel, a pub which does food, and another eatery which does take aways. I found this last one too late and I wish I had got my fish and chip supper there in Porlock Weir rather than at Minehead!
Lots of walks and coastal paths to explore.
Dog friendly.
The owner came and said hello. Nice chap.
Disliked The site is on a slope.
The flatests parts are by the lower hedge.
Arrive in daylight so that you can scout out a good spot

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Out of this world location Lovely friendly host. Matthew was extremely helpful. ND local person myself & the views were amazing. Great local pub, eateries. Highly recommend if 1 or 2 night stop over as all you need is within 5minutes…would happily pay more for a wash room
Disliked Would love to stay longer but lack of shower/ proper toilet/wash facilities (even locally off site) make it kinda impossible…

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great host! Very nice chat. Great location for visiting harbour which is a must. Simple field with stunning view over Bristol channel. Toilet and bins and nothing else. Field slopes but flattened at bottom and ideal for tent pitch. Fresh berries also. Lovely sound of waves on shoreline.
Disliked Nothing.

Lovely stay, ok for 1 night, maybe not for longer.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Lovely location, very peaceful with stunning views.
Local pub and restaurant within waking distance.
Disliked The facilities were as described however feel for the price it would massively benefit from more permanent wash/toilet facilities. It would make the area more appealing considering the surrounding. However for a one night stay didn’t phase us at all.
No takeaway within the near by facilities however only 5 minute drive away.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Beautiful view
Spacious site , not busy
The welcome from the site owner
Very close proximity to the beach and lovely old pub (the Lower Ship - can recommend the Otter Amber for beer lovers !)
Watching the rabbits early morning ( bring some binoculars for a better view)
The sun in the morning coming up over Bossington Hill
The lovely old thatched cottages and the boats in Porlock Weir harbour five minutes walk
The peace and quiet at night after the few cars have departed the local pub
Going to sleep with just the sound of the waves on the shingle shore and the occasional bird calling from the saltmarsh
Nearby Porlock for provisions ( and a pretty place in it’s own right)
On the doorstep of beautiful Exmoor and lovely Lynmouth
Very cheap
Exactly as in the description , no shocks and only nice surprises
Disliked Only dislike was the blind exit to the site onto Worthy Toll Road As a solo biker a bit disquieting as no-one to guide me out safely but not really that dangerous as the lane is very quiet. In retrospect should have removed my helmet so I could hear better !

Nearby a tiny harbour, pub and restaurant. Plus has an activity center for sea kayaking, mountain biking (including rental) and archery. Decent Mountain biking routes just up the hill.
Disliked Nothing, amazing for the price and location.
