Local attractions

We are uniquely situated beside the platform at Dunster station, perfect 'ring side seats' for watching the West Somerset Railway steam trains pull in and out. A full calendar of events from steam and diesel gala's to 1940's weekends are all literally just outside your door. Buy your ticket in the station or online before you arrive and spend a day exploring the costal towns and villages of West Somerset and beyond. Within walking distance you will find medieval Dunster village with its bustling cafes, shops, traditional pubs and award winning restaurants. Not forgetting NT Dunster Castle with its historic ramparts, beautiful gardens and original working watermill. The woodlands and hills beyond Dunster are a treat for walkers and cyclists alike. You'll find Iron Age hill forts, record breaking trees and some first class MTB trails for you to explore (we have secure bike storage on site) Also on our doorstep is Dunster beach, perfect for long strolls, swimming and views across the Channel to Wales.
